Very friendly staff, everything clean and the soaps/shower lotions were great. Noise not too bad, no street noise, just some noise from neighbouring rooms.

This is a very nice hotel room across from Bologna Centrale Train Station. There is a grocery within walking distance, and food and restaurants nearby. This is an Italian hotel chain similar to high-end Marriotts or Hiltons. The front desk members were very accommodating.

Breakfast a variety of fresh fruit , yoghurts, pastries , eggs etc were on offer. A walk to the historic centre was about 800 m but it was scenic with shops and sights so this was never an issue for us Aircon was available in the bedroom

Die Unterkunft liegt gegenüber dem Bahnhof, in das Zentrum muss man circa 10 Minuten gemütlich hinein laufen. Die Unterkunft ist wie auf den Bildern abgelichtet. Unser Zimmer war groß, ruhig, sehr sauber und funktional eingerichtet. Die Betten waren gemütlich und die Klimatisierung hat in der Nacht geräuscharm sehr gut gearbeitet. Das Frühstücksangebot war sehr ordentlich, vielfältig und lecker. Auch bei größerem Andrang wurde das Angebot jederzeit aufrecht erhalten. Wir haben die zum Hotel gehörende Garage genutzt, da wir mit dem eigenen Auto angereist waren. Das war trotz kniffliger Einfahrt (Empfehlung: Einfahrtssituation vorher einmal bei Google Street View anschauen) sehr komfortabel. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis empfanden wir als herausragend.
Cons: Nichts.Es war alle so, wie wir es ob der Hotelbeschreibung und der vorliegenden Bewertungen erwarten konnten.

The location can not be beaten, just across the road from the central train station. Lots o cofortable seating areas in the foyer. Staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were comfortable. Breakfast room staff were amog the best we have seen. Very effiient and well coordinated like a machine. The manager of the breakfast shift was part of the team, helping guests and even clearing tables. We will definitely return for a longer stay. The hotel was also very fairly priced. Good food plces arond.

Price rate just over 100 euros a night at end of August we thought was very competitive for this standard of accommodation and the triple glazing ensured there was no noise from the road outside the central station. La ubicación era perfecta, la habitación espaciosa con un buen baño. Como llegamos tarde y ya no había nada para cenar nos regalaron el uso de nevera y los complementos, todo un detalle. Pudimos dejar la maleta para visitar la ciudad unas horas antes de coger el tren.

Die Zimmer sind absolut sauber, das Frühstück ist top und die Rezeption sehr hilfsbereit.Besonders beeindruckend: Als ich wegen Unwetter und Flugausfällen nachts um 2 Uhr strandete, wurde ich sofort wieder aufgenommen. Cons: The only issue was an unusual frustrating lack of accountability at checkout. I always request a 4:00 AM taxi the night before. This time, it wasn't there. When I asked the clerk, he told me he would call it right away. However, when I pointed out that it is normally waiting for me, he changed his story and claimed he had already called earlier. The oversight itself happens, but the contradictory excuses were disappointing and resulted in a 10-minute delay. When you are on a tight schedule for a flight, every minute matters

Cons: 2日目に無料の750mlの水2本が用意されておらず、フロントに言いに行ったら、部屋に届けると言われたのに30分待っても来ず、再度フロントまでもらいに行った。 3日目にエスプレッソマシンの横にあった500mlのペットボトルの水に無料の札が掛かっていたが、最初の2日は使えなかった。エスプレッソの替えカートリッジがあったり無かったりハウスキーパーに手紙でリクエストをしないときちんとおいてもらえない日があった。 大人3名での宿泊だったが、バスローブは1人分だけで、5泊ずっと交換なしだった。

The hotel is very close to the Bologna Centrale train station and it's also very easy to go downtown going straight on a nice boulevard. The room was large and clean, bathroom was nice also. I liked the breakfast.

Le plus de cet hôtel c est aussi le surclassemment que n pas hésité à nous faire le personnel pour une des chambres. At true five star Hotel. Clean comfortable with all the modern amenities staff friendly and always willing to be helpful. Upgraded to a suite room something we really appreciated . The room was large comfortable and made our stay in Bologna perfect. An amazing stay. So well located , central , across the road from the station making it easy to commute and make out sightseeing so much easier. Double glazed windows kept the room quiet . Short stroll around the corner and down the road to all of the large Piazza and restaurants would definitely stay here again if I came back to Bologna and definitely recommend it.

It is a very nice hotel very close to the historical city center. The room was spacious, very clean and very well maintained. The bathroom was also great. We had a very good breakfast in the morning. We were also able to reserve in advance a parking space for the car (with added cost but it was ok). The personnel was very polite and friendly.
Cons: The hotel is great. It is situated just opposite the train station, so at night, you might not feel that comfortable to walk around. It is not dangerous, it is just the feeling that you get.

Cons: No me gusto nada la carta y la comida del restaurante. Cenamos una noche y la carta tiene muy pocas opciones. Además es muy pero que muy caro. Algo sin sentido en comparación a todo lo demás del hotel. Una lastima, porque hubiéramos cenado muchas mas veces.

The location is great, right across from the train station. The room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, which we really appreciated. It was also nice that the room was cleaned thoroughly and regularly every day. However, it would have been better to have a coffee machine instead of a kettle. Instant coffee in Italy is not really enjoyable. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and were happy with the cleanliness and spaciousness of the room.
Cons: Although two towels were provided for each guest, only one bathrobe and one pair of slippers were provided, even though we were staying as a couple. It would have been more appropriate to provide these amenities for both guests. The shower water also took quite a long time to heat up, and water spilled onto the bathroom floor while showering, probably due to an issue with the floor slope or drainage.

Cons: The first room we were given had an issue with the bedside lights, which wouldn’t turn off. We eventually realised that the light switches were broken. After contacting reception, they kindly moved us to another room. Although the rooms are clean and comfortable, it is noticeable that the hotel is quite old and would benefit from some renovation, particularly the bathrooms. One of the towels we were given also started to shred as soon as we used it to dry ourselves, which was disappointing. The appearance of the hallways could also be significantly improved. In front of our room, there was a large stain on the carpet that looked unpleasant and made the area feel poorly maintained.

We had an absolutely marvelous time at the Excelsior in Bologna! I am positive we have never encountered kinder or more helpful staff members in our many hotel stays. I want to highlight a few people. First, Munna was exceptional at the front desk, caring for my mother who had some difficulties when we were there. The ice sent up to her room was especially kind. He also inquired in town about some medical solutions for my father. We also wanted to highlight Alexandra and the front desk manager Silvia. My parents had more experience with them, but phoning the room to check on my mom and sending the gift of jam was extremely thoughtful; Silvia was also helpful in many other ways. I also want to compliment the housekeeper who was there when we arrived; I am sorry I missed her name. When she saw that the kids loved the bathrobes and slippers, she immediately brought several more so the kids could feel the luxury of the space while we were there. We also very much enjoyed the breakfasts and how close the hotel was to other sites. Finally, we had drinks and dinner one evening and the drinks/meal and many servers' attention that evening were also superb. We have no complaints about anything at the hotel (only that the parking is indeed tight to enter, but the attendant was also kind and finished parking the vehicle). Thank you for making our time in Bologna so wonderful!

La eficacia del personal y la habitación, fantástica. Nos hicieron upgrading y nos dieron una suite maravillosa con una cama enorme donde se duerme estupendamente.

Låg direkt över gatan från Bolognas centralstation - perfekt för resande som behöver övernattning. Väldigt välstädad, fräscht stort rum och fint badrum med badkar. Bra luftkonditionering. Vi hade rum på baksidan av hotellet - mycket tyst och inga störningar på natten. Personalen i front desk var väldigt trevlig och hjälpsam, vi fick en karta och tips på promenad och bra ställen att äta på. Frukosten var väldigt bra med ett stort urval.

Cons: Marvellous food by and large, both breakfast and dinner. But the hot part of the breakfast was cold and unappetising, unlucky? The cold part of the buffet breakfast was very good. The staff very attentive and accommodating even boiling the water for 2 UK tea drinkers :)

Very nice location close to the centre and easy access by car. They have parking as well. The restaurant and the bar was very good. For every purpose you travel it covers your needs.

Hotel muito confortável, com ótimo pequeno almoço, a localização é excelente por se situar em frente à estação de comboios que permite o acesso ao aeroporto ou a qualquer cidade que se queira visitar. Pode-se visitar o centro da cidade a pé, percorrendo cerca de 20 minutos em linha reta chega-se à Piazza Maggiore. O pequeno almoço é muito bom tal como o serviço de restaurante.
Cons: Nada de desagradável tenho a apontar em relação à minha estadia no hotel.

O pequeno almoço é agradável, algumas opções disponíveis, mas para quatro estrelas esperava maior variedade, assim como o espaço podia ser mais simpático. Torno sempre con piacere in questo hotel perché è tutto perfetto. La posizione comodissima di fronte alla stazione, l'arredamento molto bello, il confort, lo staff, la colazione. Tutto eccellente.
Cons: Mi è sempre piaciuto tutto ma nell'ultima prenotazione ho letto le comunicazioni dell'hotel e sono rimasta sgradevolmente sorpresa dal fatto che si cita un obbligo di lasciare la mancia del 5% allo staff e del 10% al ristorante. Questa scorretta abitudine che ho trovato in molti Paesi esteri non mi è mai piaciuta e trovo che adeguarsi a questo comportamento non sia corretto perchè sottende anche ad un minore remunerazione dei dipendenti da parte dei datori di lavoro. C'è da dire però, che ho notato che questa regola non è stata mai applicata, nemmeno nel mio ultimo pagamento. Probabilmente è un adeguamento a regole formali che valgono per la catena ma che in Italia, fortunatamente, non viene eseguita. Se in futuro la mancia dovesse risultare obbligatoria, prenoterò in altri hotel.

Excelente hotel.Trato maravilloso desde el primer momento.La habitación de 10,cómoda,elegante y con todo tipo de detalles: bebidas cortesía( agua natural,con gas,café illy de cápsulas,infusiones).El baño excelente con geles,champú,acondicionador,zapatillas,albornoz... Y el desayuno muy completo y de máxima calidad. El último día se pueden dejar las maletas hasta que marches de la ciudad. Lo recomiendo sí o sí.

The location was right next to the main train station. Usually the main train station can be quite a dodgy place to be at but this is not the case. The bed was comfortable, and there were many options for pillows. best sleep i've had. The place was quiet as well, you don't hear people around (great sound proofing) especially when my room was next to the lift. The staff were lovely, great help to find food and provided us with adaptors when ours didn't work.
Cons: Breakfast had limited options and the sausages were not great but otherwise that was the only feedback i had.

I had a great stay in Bologna! The hotel was extremely clean, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the location couldn’t have been more convenient. It’s right in front of the train station, which made arriving, departing and getting around incredibly easy. Everything felt well maintained and comfortable, and the location was perfect for our stay. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Bologna.
Cons: The only thing that was just okay for me was the breakfast. It wasn’t particularly to my taste, but overall it didn’t take away from a really great stay.
