Das Hotel ist wunderschön und komfortabel. Die Betten waren sehr gut und angenehm groß. Wir hatten das Concierge-Service für unser Auto und es hat hervorragend geklappt. Das Frühstücksbuffet war wunderbar. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Lage des Hotels ist einmalig - direkt beim Meer und unweit der Piazza dell'Unita sowie der Innenstadt.
Cons: Das einzige, was wir kritisieren, ist, dass wir keinen Platz zum Legen unserer Kleidung hatten. Es gab nur einen kleinen Kasten, wo man Kleider, Jacken und Hosen auf Kleiderhaken hängen konnte, aber nur 2 kleine Laden, wo man gerade die Unterwäsche unterbringen konnte. Es gab keine Regale oder Fächer, wo wir alle anderen Kleidungsstücke unterbringen konnten. Wir mussten also 7 Tage aus dem Koffer leben, was nicht sehr angenehm war.

Attól a pillanattól kezdve, hogy a szállodát kiválasztottuk a Booking.com oldalán, egészen addig a percig, amikor távozáskor magunkra csuktuk a kocsiajtót, egyetlen szóval tudnám jellemezni az élményt: Prémium! Már az érkezést megelőző egyeztető levelezés során is mérhetetlen profizmusról tettek tanúbizonyságot. Mozgási nehezítettséggel élőként is teljes nyugalommal érkezhettünk, mert figyeltek, meghallgattak és tájékoztattak - minden előzetes kérésünket maradéktalanul teljesítették, sőt, ajándék szoba upgrade-et is kaptunk. A helyszínen segítőkész fogadtatás, fantasztikus kiszolgálás, szép, tiszta, és tágas lakosztály várt, csodálatos kilátással a tengerre. Az enteriőr fantasztikus, az apró kényelmi részletek minden kényeztetést megadnak, a szobaszemélyzet pedig egyszerűen páratlan. A reggeli pazar, bőséges és finom, és még a szobánk erkélyére is szívesen felszolgálták, nagyszerű élmény volt. Kifejezetten nagyra értékeltük a szokatlanul jó zajszigetelést, gyakorlatilag síri csend. Sem kívülről, sem folyosó felől érkező zaj nem zavarta a pihenésünket. Jó pár szállodában megfordultam, de csak nagyon kevés helyen éreztem azt, hogy minden részletre odafigyelve, tökéletesen olajozott gépezetként dolgozik mindenki egyként azért, hogy a vendég jól érezze magát. Itt maximálisan. Savoia Excelsior Palace Trieste, nagyon köszönjük ezt a csodás élményt, máskor is szívesen térünk vissza.
Cons: A parkolás a környéken szenvedés, és a szerződött valet parking sem volt megnyugtató számomra. A biztosítási felelősség és fedezet kérdése külföldiként lehet problémás, és visszanézve a dash-cam felvételeket a parkolásukról; nos, azért van mitől tartani bőven. Nem volt gond, de az egyetlen olyan pont volt a pihenésünk során, ami miatt nem voltam teljesen nyugodt. Ez -1 pont.

Super Lage, direkt bei der Altstadt und direkt am Hafen. Die Zimmer haben Meerblick bzw. teilweisen Meerblick. Das Frühstück war sehr gut. Wir kamen bereits 9 Uhr morgens an und es wurden uns trotzdem schon Zimmer zur Verfügung gestellt. Damit haben wir gar nicht gerechnet. Wir kommen auf alle Fälle wieder!
Cons: Zwar gab es einen Balkon am Zimmer, jedoch keine Sitzgelegenheiten, obwohl alle anderen Balkone Sitzgarnituren hatten. Wir verlangten welche bei der Rezeption und es wurden uns welche zur Verfügung gestellt. Wir hatten 2 Zimmer des gleichen Preises, jedoch unterschiedliche Zimmergrößen und Mobiliar (in einem war ein zusätzlicher Divan). Das andere Zimmer war auch sehr schön und es fehlte an nichts, die unterschiedlichen Zimmergrößen/Ausstattung zum selber Preis fanden wir irritierend.

Cons: de ez volt az utolsó. A szoba leharcolt volt, a szőnyeg koszos, a bútorok töröttek, a kád repedezett, még a wc kefe is törött volt. A sea view + balcony upgrade értelmetlen. Olyan kicsi az erkély, hogy egyedül se tudsz kiállni, hangos az utca, a tengerből nem látsz semmit a nagy hajókról, ahonnan befelé fotóz a sok turista. Egy luxusszálloda volt 5 évvel ezelőtt. Kár érte.

Dieses Hotel ist einfach ein Traum ! Man fühlt die Vergangenheit in diesem sehr gut erhaltenen Gebäude ! Es wurde anscheinend immer stilgerecht renoviert , und nicht kaputt modernisiert wie es leider häufig der Fall ist ! Natürlich die Betten sind am neuesten Stand , das heißt man schläft himmlisch bei diesen tollen Matratzen !

Vielen herzlichen Dank für unsere wunderschöne große Suite , wir kommen bei Gelegenheit wieder, wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt… in diesem Hotel hat man das Gefühl in einem fünf Sterne Hotel zu sein, fühlt sich nicht wie vier Sterne an… Auch ist das wunderschöne historische Gebäude und die äußerst geschmackvolle Einrichtung hervorzuheben, genau unser Stil….

Fantastic hotel on the waterfront riva and adjacent to the main square. The hotel staff were all very friendly and professional and proficient in English. We enjoyed an upgrade to a suite with a balcony overlooking the riva and the cruise ship port. The breakfast was wonderful. The bar was great and the adjacent library was an amazing room to relax and enjoy our cocktails. There was a small fitness room that has everything we needed.

Cons: Hotellets parkering låg flera kilometer bort så personalen fick köra fram och tillbaka bilen. Man fick säga till ca 30 min innan man ville ha bilen. Det fungerade inomhus för sig bra men är lite omständigt upplägg.

Doskonała lokalizacja praktycznie przy samym morzu. Budynek przepiękny zarówno z zewnątrz jak i w środku. W hotelu i w pokoju w zasadzie wszystko czego można by chcieć. Klimatyzacja działała bez zarzutu co w obliczu ogromnego upału było naprawdę wielkim komfortem. Śniadanie smaczne, dość urozmaicone. Przy hotelu nie ma parkingu co może być dużym problemem jeśli podróżujecie autem natomiast za dopłatą 30 € można zamówić odstawienie samochodu na specjalny parking hotelowy, który znajduje się w pewnym oddaleniu od hotelu i nie trzeba tego robić samemu obsługa hotelowa zrobi to za Was. W razie potrzeb przywiezie i odwiezie wasz samochód pod drzwi kiedy tylko będziecie chcieli. To co jest istotne o czym nie wiedzieliśmy przyjeżdżając do hotelu to to, że na pół godziny samochód można przed drzwiami hotelu zostawić wypakować swoje bagaże spokojnie się zameldować i w tym czasie poprosić o odstawienie samochodu za opłatą na ich parking my tego nie wiedzieliśmy w związku z tym kluczyliśmy po włoskich uliczkach poszukując jakiegokolwiek miejsca do parkowania, co nie było łatwe ponieważ w trieście traktują priorytetowo skutery i większość miejsc do parkowania jest dla skuterów a nie dla samochodów. Dlatego piszę tę informację bo może dla kogoś będzie bardzo pomocna.
Cons: Jedyną rzeczą do której teoretycznie mogłabym się przyczepić oprócz wszystkiego co było cudowne w tym hotelu to mała różnorodność warzyw na śniadaniu. W zasadzie z kwestii warzyw była tylko roszponka i małe pomidorki ;) I druga sprawa może nawet trochę ważniejsza to kawa na śniadaniu. W restauracji gdzie podawane jest śniadanie nie ma dostępu do ekspresu do kawy. Można zamówić kawę jaką się chce u pań obsługujących, natomiast jeśli nie chcecie się prosić o specjalną kawę to dostępna jest tylko dramatyczna lura w czymś w rodzaju samowara. Niestety kiedy człowiek przyjeżdża do Włoch i myśli o prawdziwej włoskiej kawie i dostaje na śniadanie coś takiego to jest to rozczarowujące.

His customer service was impeccable, assuring and informative. He really is an asset and to the business. The hotel location could not be any more central and the old building had a beautiful blend of modern and old together. The room was spacious, with high ceilings and attention to details. Area to work, rest and recuperate. There was even a kitchenette area that added extra comfort. For those that are looking to cruise the port is opposite so it can not be any easier to access.

Very friendly and welcoming stuff, hospitality of Savoia was on the highest level, as well as consierge' service and cleaning quality! The room with the sea view is fantastic, we've experienced so breathtaking sunsets. What surprised me is how quite the room is, considering that it faced a harbor and a quite busy road. The additional benefit is a bathtub, helped to relax after hot days.

Die Lage ist super, auch der Service wie die der Garagenservice (30€ /tag, dein Auto wird für dich geholt und weggebracht, so oft du möchtest) sowie findet man immer einen Angestellten für jegliche Belange und Wünsche. Cons: Es ist zwar prunkvoll jedoch gibt es einige Stellen an denen man erkennt, dass es etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist. Wie beispielsweise im Zimmer der Teppichboden, der Flecken hatte, oder auch an den Wänden. Mit ein bisschen Zuwendung wäre das schnell behoben. Ich komm aber trotzdem gerne wieder.

The hotel is exceptional in every sense - the location is ideal, just minutes from the Union Square, the harbour and major museums like the Revoltella. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and modern yet maintain a sense of decor and style that is historic, reminiscent of Austria-Hungary. Most rooms also have very large balconies with stunning views of the harbour. The staff are polite and helpful. Overall a marvellous experience and I highly recommend staying here.

Unfortunately we only had 1 night in the hotel and left very early the next mrning for the airport. Since we arrived 6 hours before check in, staff was very helpful in taking and securing our luggage.

Cons: The few things that bothered us for the price we paid (over $1,000.00 Cdn. per night) was the level of maintenance of our room. The living room carpet had a large stain in it over by the table. The balcony steel railings were all rusty and needed paint also the wood trim on the outside window frame's needed paint. Our room had a kitchenette room but there were no utensils and if you wanted some you had to pay extra euro's to get them and there was no microwave. In our humble opinion the level of maintenance should have been much higher for our room to keep it to the level expected from the Savoia Excelsior Palace.

Ein wunderschön und mit viel Stil renoviertes Hotel, in dem der Charme vergangener Zeiten noch an jeder Ecke spürbar ist. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, mit sehr bequemen Betten und hochwertigem Bettzeug. Die Klimaanlage ließ sich einfach einstellen, war angenehm leise und blies nicht direkt auf das Bett – ein großer Pluspunkt. Auch die Illy-Espressomaschine auf dem Zimmer haben wir sehr geschätzt. Besonders positiv war auch die hervorragende Schallisolierung: Bei geschlossenen Fenstern war trotz der Lage keinerlei Straßenlärm zu hören. Sowohl im Zimmer als auch im Badezimmer gab es ausreichend Ablageflächen, was den Aufenthalt besonders komfortabel gemacht hat. Hervorheben möchten wir außerdem die ausgesprochen freundliche Reinigungsdame und die sehr hilfsbereiten Pagen, die den positiven Gesamteindruck perfekt abgerundet haben. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.
Cons: Kleine Verbesserungsvorschläge gibt es dennoch: Zwei koffeinhaltige Kaffeekapseln pro Tag sind etwas knapp bemessen. Schade fanden wir außerdem, dass es keinen Kooperationsrabatt mit der Garage San Giusto gibt. In der Hotelbar hätten ein paar kleine Knabbereien wie Nüsse oder Chips zum Getränk den Service zusätzlich aufgewertet. Leider funktionierten auch beide Duscharmaturen nicht einwandfrei – eine war deutlich verkalkt und bei der anderen war der Duschschlauch locker. Insgesamt haben wir uns aber sehr wohlgefühlt und würden das Hotel aufgrund seines besonderen Ambientes und des hohen Komforts gerne weiterempfehlen.

Kein Kristall, sondern einfaches Glas, einfache Form. Sorry, für ein Haus dieses Standards geht so etwas überhaupt nicht! Die Weinliste ist sehr auf italienische Weine und Weine der Region fixiert. Da werden die bekannten Klassiker angeboten, aber auch jeweils nur einer (allerdings ordentlich ausgewählt). The Savoia is a genuinely opulent hotel, the kind of place where the decor and furnishings still carry a sense of old-world grandeur. Everything about the room felt considered — the bed was comfortable, and they offer two different pillow types per guest, so you can choose what type you find most comfortable to sleep on. The toiletries and amenities were a step above the average: the gorgeous slippers come in two sizes, an unusually thoughtful touch, and the shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion were large “minis”, much bigger than the usual tiny size. The real highlight, though, was the balcony — or rather, balconies, because we had 2. One was furnished nicely enough that we spent a good amount of time out there in the morning and later evening because it was hot in the afternoon full sun. We stayed 2 nights in room 518, “a junior balcony suite”, and it lived up to that: plenty of space, an enormous walk-in closet that could easily fit two people’s luggage and clothes for a much longer stay, and a beautiful marble bathroom. The one drawback in the bathroom was the single sink and fairly tight counter space, which made it a bit of a juggle keeping our toiletries organized between the two of us. That said, we appreciated having a bidet (and thoughtfully, a small bottle feminine hygiene wash), and proper washcloths, along with a standard shower/tub combination. On the staff side, service was competent and efficient but leaned more business-like than warm — polite, but not the kind of hospitality that makes you feel personally welcomed. One small thing we noticed: there was a pillow menu card tucked away in a folder in the desk drawer, buried under other papers. Nobody mentioned it to us at check-in, and honestly, I doubt most guests ever stumble across it on their own. It seems like a missed chance to enhance the stay for guests who’d appreciate the option. We also had an issue with the toilet seat being broken when we arrived, which housekeeping must have been aware of before we even checked in, since it clearly hadn’t just happened. To their credit, once we brought it to management’s attention, it was fixed quickly. We also noticed severalcarpet stains, which suggests the hotel could benefit from some refurbishment in the not-too-distant future. The location was ideal – perfect really – a two minute walk from the main square and the Ho ho bus stop, and surrounded by dozens of shops and restaurants. Main sites were an easy walk away. As an aside, I recommend taking the Ho Ho bus. It costs approximately €35 a person and schedules stops at all sites you might want to see, including a drive along the coast to the castle. Note that the drop off point for the castle is a good 15 minutes walk from the actual castle building. Unusually, they will also offer to reserve a spot for pick up from the castle so that you are guaranteed space on the bus on your return trip. All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay and would recommend the Savoia without reservation.

Cons: We traveled with our dog and paid a €60 ‘deep cleaning’ fee, which is higher than most hotels charge, but I was fine with that. The problem was the carpet in our room, which had multiple visible stains and clearly hadn’t been deep cleaned in a long time. Paying a premium cleaning fee for a room that isn’t clean doesn’t feel justified. I wouldn’t return.

My two best friends from university and I get together with our families every few years. This trip was three nights together at an Airbnb in Venice followed by three nights at the Savoia Excelsior Palace. We occupied four units on the 5th floor--three rooms and one suite. This grand hotel could not have a better location. All our rooms had balconies facing the sea. The views were both peaceful and stunning. I really enjoyed having a sofa in our room. The ensuite bathroom was sizeable and as well-appointed as the bedroom. The bed linens and pillows were near perfect. Our friends felt that the beds were a bit too firm but I disagree. I'd rather too firm than soft. We had breakfast downstairs all three mornings. Solid. Given Trieste's history, there were options such as strudel and sauerkraut. I enjoyed the fresh sauerkraut with scrambled eggs and regional cheeses every morning. Good coffee too. I with there had been cranberry or apple juice as options, I didn't ask. But there are several fresh citrus juice varieties available. At my second breakfast, I requested gluten free toast. The tall, young man who helped me brought out a selection of Schar products. If you have to avoid gluten, I recommend this brand. The next morning, he remembered my request and brought out another array of Schar products without me asking. That is attention to detail. He wasn't wearing a name badge but had closely cropped hair and blue eyes. Our helpful and cheerful chambermaid, the tall gentleman who checked us into the hotel and the bartender the night of the July 15th and 16th were all very professional. The chambermaid was quick to greet us in the morning when we walked by her in the hallway. The gentleman who checked us in gave me a brief synopsis of the Star Hotels program after I told him we had stayed at their sister property in Sienna. I thought the Savoia was related to the hotel of the same name in Milan. That's a great hotel too. The bartender who worked the 15h and 16th--especially during the England vs. Argentina football match--was professional, poised and made an excellent drink. He had very closely cropped hair, nearly shaved. I wish I had gotten the names of these four hotel workers as they stood out. Our issue was with the concierge service. One of our friends booked a private beach club on our last full day, the 17th. The first one that was recommended had terrible reviews online. We opted for the cheaper one instead. It would have been nice to have been told there were no beach towels at the beach club. A better informed, proactive concierge would have given her clients heads up. We were forced to drip dry after leaving the water. We all had trouble with the taxi AP and connectivity at the beach club. When one of us got through to the hotel to ask if they could call us a taxi, we were given a number to call and told to do it ourselves. Again, we had three rooms and a suite in total. Eventually one of us got through to a taxi company and handed me the phone. None of us speak Italian but I speak Spanish. I often speak Spanish in Italy when there is a communication challenge. The languages are similar. I'm not completely fluent and after a day at the beach, it was annoying and a bit of a challenge to arrange three taxis in Spanish for all of us to return to the hotel. Later that day one of us asked the concierge to help us with dinner reservations. It was our last night together after a fun week in Italy. The previous nights, we had winged it, but wanted a recommendation on our last night. They booked a table at the Hostaria Malcanton. The food was very good. The service was not. We're all very friendly so couldn't understand why the first waiter was so rude to us. A second waiter started to help us. He was friendly. The woman who brought out the food was just as unfriendly as the first waiter. We really couldn't understand what was happening. But again, the food was delicious. After dinner, we returned to the bar for one last round of drinks. The bartender who had previously helped us was replaced by a very young man. Maybe he was new but he was not as skilled or professional as his colleague. Our vodkas came out without sparkling water and very little ice. One of us went to retrieve the sparkling. And while they were very nice (big) pours, they would have been appreciated by us when we were young and at university, not when we're middle aged and about to check out the next day. We had a good laugh at our large warm vodkas. I plan on returning to Trieste one day, hopefully next year. What a great city overlooked by its neighbour, Venice. I will return to this hotel. For the spotty service, it was a lovely experience with some stand out hotel staff. Thank you for helping us celebrate our long friendship.

Everything was beyond perfection. The hotel is located in a 20th-century palace and blends perfectly with the surrounding architecture. Piazza Unità, which I think is the most beautiful square in Italy, is just a few steps away, and in front of you lies the beautiful molo of Trieste — you can see the Faro della Vittoria up on the hill, the harbour, and Molo Audace. You can’t ask for a better location. The rooms are spacious, the bathroom is ample and accessible for disabled guests, the bed and pillows are super comfortable, the air conditioning is great, and the valet parking is a plus. Breakfast was amazing: plenty of savoury and sweet choices, everything fresh and of high quality. The staff was attentive and kind. Everything was spotless. The only remark I’d make is that, since the hotel is in Italy, it would be nice to be greeted in Italian first when entering the restaurant or checking in, rather than assuming we’re foreigners. The dinner at the restaurant was gorgeous. After two months on the road eating nothing but fish and meat, I could finally enjoy my favourite dish again — I had missed pasta terribly. If you are travelling to Trieste, you can’t miss this hotel.

Grand hotel in a great location just along the seafront from the main Piazza Unità d'Italia, facing the ships. Restaurants in the streets behind the hotel and the streets off the square. Central Trieste easily walkable including to the Roman theatre, “canal” area and up the small hill to the castle via the little streets. For Miramare (2 crowded buses) you can use the bus stop outside the hotel for the initial bus. Good bathroom.

Great choice of toiletries, tea and coffee in the room and complimentary water. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The checkin staff saw my dietary requirements and immediately recommended some restaurants in the area. Easy to stop in front of the hotel for valet parking.

This was the fourth time, that we had stayed at this traditional and historic hotel in as many years. We were welcomed as long lost friends by Valentina and Arianna on reception. The staff are all very friendly. The breakfast was good as usual and the bedroom suite on the first floor overlooking the Gulf of Trieste was capacious and very comfortable. The location of this hotel is excellent being very central and right on the Esplanade. The wifi worked well. Room service staff were very efficient and most obliging.
Cons: Like last time, the hot breakfast items could have been much warmer. The shower over the bath could be tricky to enter and to leave.

Cons: Mit dem Zimmerservice hatten wir kein Glück. Da sind jede Menge Verbesserungen möglich. Karte war weg, Bad Reinigung sehr oberflächig. Dem Personal beim Frühstück fehlte, zum Teil, die nötige Aufmerksamkeit und einige hatten eine unangenehme Art. Es wirkte überheblich. Nochmal, das war nur ein Teil.

Everything. It’s a beautiful hotel, built in the early part of the 20th century, and so has large open spaces, wide corridors, high vaulted ceilings …. I could go on. The rooms are elegant and well equipped. Marble bathrooms and all the little touches one would expect, but often don’t get. The Dinner was very good and the breakfast amazing. The staff were super helpful and all our needs were instantly met. Perfectly positioned for joining a cruise ship as the terminal,is on the other side of the road.
Cons: One lift was being repaired which meant long waits occasionally for the lifts. A minor inconvenience and one that will be resolved soon.

Our room was as we left it with no turn down service or basic clean up . We had not left a Do not disturb sign on our door . The concierge failed to book a taxi to the airport for the following morning although he had promised to do so . Confusion by front of house and bellman as to where the Red Bus stop was - it’s actually not a Red Bus or Red stop - it’s actually white ! So that is why we could not find it ourselves and needed advice 🤓

Wunderbar unser Zimmer mit Balkon & direktem Blick auf das Treiben an den Schiffsanlegern - ja, das ist besonders, diese Riesen-Kreuzfahrtschiffe aus der Nähe zu betrachten. Das gefällt vielleicht nicht jedem - wir mochten es, weil außergewöhnlich! Und wir schätzten Parkplatz-Service: nur Ausladen, Gepäck wurde uns gebracht, Wagen wurde in eine Garage gefahren und am nächsten Tag nach kurzem Aviso wieder vor die Tür gebracht.

Wunderschönes altes Hotel! Ich frage mich warum es keine fünf Sterne hat sondern nur vier. Vielleicht weil am Abend die Betten nicht gemacht werden? Oder kein Willkommensgeschenk am Tisch steht ? Es war alles perfekt, sauber und gediegen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Die Lage perfekt neben der Altstadt und am Hafen. Das einzige was den Genuss vielleicht gedrückt hat, war die Tatsache ,dass direkt vor unserem Fenster, Blick auf den Hafen, mit Balkon, an zwei von vier Tagen in Riesenschiff gelegen ist, sollte man bei der ZimmerWahl berücksichtigen, falls man ein Zimmer mit Meerblick gebucht hat. Dieses fährt allerdings am Abend wieder weg und unter Tags ist man eh nicht am Zimmer ,also am Abend hat man dann wieder freie Sicht.

Perfect location. Clean and comfortable beds. Wonderful bell service.
Cons: Room never got cool despite the AC on low; many elevators out of commission; room key stopped working and a far walk to the desk to replace (calling hotel you only get Italian);

This hotel is right across the main hub for cruise ships so you have an amazing view of the sea and harbor. Would highly recommend a room with sea view and balcony it's so worth it. Wifi worked really well. Nice bathroom and ample storage space. Breakfast was okay.
Cons: Some of the staff were not friendly.

This is a sort of nothing-to-complain-about hotel but it sort of lacks a bit of soul. One can see that they have done their best to convert a building but it seemed to me to lack a bit of character. To the positives, I found the service friendly and professional, the concierge found us excellent dining options. The location is perfect, even watching the cruise boats pull in and out from our balcony was entertaining. I was sort of looking for a roof top bar or a pool, but these are not a feature. The room, with a nice view was on the small side, especially the bathroom. Breakfast was fine, but not a big plus point. Finally, Trieste is an interesting, lovely city we really enjoyed, especially the historical city center and the ice cream.

Walked from the cruise ship across the road and we were in the Hotel! Super convenient for the town too with sites and restaurants within an easy walk and views across the bay. We were lucky to book the presidential suite which is bigger than a flat with a huge living room, bedroom and bathroom and a triple width balcony offering panoramic views in all directions. Luxuriously appointed with quiet but effective air conditioning and triple glazing and a huge firm bed providing a quiet and comfy night. The marble bathroom floor is heated in case you don't wear the colour coordinated slippers. My wife mentioned that the marble dining table could also have benefitted from being heated as it was cold on her bottom. The balcony is great for relaxing and sunbathing and there are cushions on the balcony furniture. There is both a bath and separate massage shower. The shower has many additional water jets which can be adjusted to wherever requires a massage which is nice. Room service was good as were the chamber maids who kept the suite clean and provided treats with the turn down service. Breakfast was sufficient and good value. There is an optional 5% service charge added on checkout for staff - we paid it as the service is good but I think this should be mentioned on arrival otherwise it looks a bit 'sharp' although it was made very clear it was entirely voluntary. If you want a luxury, romantic, stimulating start or end to your cruise and the chance to discover Trieste book a few nights in the President suite at this hotel.
