the location was good for shopping.
Cons: I stayed in room 1116 which smelled like dead rat or inside a sewage, the towels had hair, walls have giant fly and carpet was wet smelly, dark and dirty feel. made complain to housekeeping and got worst, my worst 3 nights ever. Never return.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel our one-week trip to Paris, which included a grand stay at the Intercontinental Le Grand. The concierge professionals (Sebastian, Antoine, and another ?!) are the best I have ever had the pleasure of working with. I had scheduled tours, buy the Bastile Day fireworks from atop the Eiffel Tower were changed from July 14 to July 13! The concierge rescheduled our tours during all of the chaos that ensued after the change on June 1, 2026! They are very responsive. Staying in this hotel is worth every Euro or USD. I had a private Mercedes SUV and private tour of Versailles scheduled, and they canceled this and rescheduled for me. They canceled the meet and greet at the aiport and Mercedes SUV to get to the hotel and back. My daughter got sick, and even after I canceled my stay there, I received the most gracious note from Sebastian. He wished us a lovely summer and stated,"We will be waiting for you in Paris." The hospitality when not even staying there was superb. I will stay at the Intercontinental Le Grand when we go in the future. If you enjoy working with the best of the very best, I highly recommend the Intercontinental. Thank you to Sebastian for his kind note and to all of the staff for working me even when I had to cancel. I appreciated this so much, as I felt bad after all they had done for me with Eiffel, Louvre, Versailles, etc. etc. etc. tours for me. Sebastian is Parisian hospitality at its best.

Cons: During our family trip to Paris, our stay at this hotel was extremely uncomfortable. In 40-degree heat, the air conditioning in both of our rooms did not work, and despite several requests, the issue was never fixed. It was impossible to sleep, and our children felt unwell because of the heat. As a result, our trip was largely ruined, because after a sleepless night it is impossible to enjoy the sightseeing and the city itself. By providing such conditions, the hotel puts the life and well-being of its guests at risk. The staff only offered a refund, but in peak season it was practically impossible to find two rooms in another hotel, so this “solution” was useless for a family with children. I do not recommend this hotel, especially for families travelling with children.

Everything was so perfect! The room was clean, and we really enjoyed the impressive decorations and elegant atmosphere throughout the hotel. The staff was extraordinary, ready to help everywhere anytime. Also, the view on the Opera Garnier was breathtaking!! Expensive stay, but worth every euro spent.

Cons: У нас был очень дорогой номер люкс состоящий из 2 спален и ливинга. Брали для тихого отдыха семьей и ребенка. При этом наш номер был на 2 этаже и до ночи мешал шум от метро - весь день буквально трясет номер. Так же в номере произошел потоп от номера сверху при этом никакого комплимента или извинения за неудобство мы не получили. ЧАС ходили чинили, убрали лужу и ушли как будто ничего и не было. Безумно дорого за такой сервис.

This is a great hotel in a good area of Paris (trust me it is not better anywhere else in the city, as I drove and walked all over this city over the years). The rooms (classic/cosy) are rather small for any american standards (not sure how the hotel passed the 5 star requirement on this aspect alone). Normally, if you have IHG elite status, you can expect an upgrade to a larger room (so you don't have to deal with the claustrophobie) . But whenever the hotel is full for some sort of an event in the city, you may get nothing besides what you booked. This is rather dissapointing, even iHG diamond or IHG ambassador members may not get their guaranteed upgrades. Staff is usually responsive at the front desk; housekeeping it varies quite a lot. Breakfast and restaurant staff is fairly accomodating. The breakfast buffet for such an IC hotel is rather slim on items and also in their variety from day to day and overall dissapointing-bread especially is rather old, stale and from the day prior and lacks variety, in a city that has endless bread varieties. Had better buffets in the city elsewhere.

Wir konnten auf Anfrage das Zimmer wechseln. Somit hatten wir eine sehr gute Aussicht/ Lage. Es war eine sehr gute Leistung der Rezeption. Der Concierge Service war außerdem sehr gut. Nicolas checked us in and we had a very lovely stay here. Our bed was very comfortable and we even had a view of the Eiffel Tower. Breakfast was sensational and also the staff was very helpful. Yingxi and Tiago were two people that made sure our stay was exceptional as they were terrific. We also had a massage here and it was magical and relaxing. They also have a beautiful bar and we enjoyed having a few drinks there. It may very well be the most beautiful hotel in all of Paris and maybe anyplace else as well. We would love to return.

I have to recommend this hotel because it exceeded all my expectations. I stayed here with my wife for our anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcomed and taken care of. We booked a Junior Suite, which turned out to be an excellent choice – the room was very spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. We had our anniversary dinner outside the hotel, but later returned to the Club Lounge. I highly recommend upgrading to it – the variety of food and the elegant atmosphere made the experience even more special. The staff throughout the hotel were outstanding – from the front desk receptionists, waiters, and concierge to the housekeeping team and room service. Everyone was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Everything about this place is 10/10. We were pleasantly surprised by how great our stay was, and we are already planning to come back in winter. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable!

Worst hotel I have been complaining my AC doesn’t work for since I arrive no efforts was made until 3days after. It is impossible to sleep in heat. Everything about this property is five star luxury! The attention to every detail and how wonderfully they treat you there makes you never want to leave. They are over the top professional and attentive to every need no matter how big or small the request is. We so enjoyed our room and all that it came equipped with. The wonderful welcome treats they put in our room upon arrival to the extra hangers needed. The views and location are perfect and in an area that is safe with loads of shopping and restaurants close by. The views from the 5th floor and the two balconies we enjoyed each day were fabulous and iconic views of Paris. 🫶❤️ The bar, Restaurant , Spa, front lobby, concierge and the front door staff should all take a bow. Phenomenal service across the board. Thank you to Julian in the atrium breakfast area, he is such a genuine pleasure to meet and have greet you in the morning ( cappuccino with a slice of chocolate).

My daughter and I had an absolutely wonderful long weekend stay at the Intercontinental Le Grand, where we celebrated her birthday in great comfort. The Le Grand staff were so very warm, attentive and friendly from the moment we arrived. The club lounge team very graciously helped me improve my French as we chatted together. Room service and housekeeping were excellent, discreet and responsive. Truly a luxury experience in a very beautiful, historic hotel which is perfectly located in short walking distance to all of the cultural sites and good shopping! Even though our room was facing the street we heard no traffic or sounds, and windows opened which was lovely in the early morning and evening. Breakfast was excellent with a similarly charming staff taking care of us. There is nothing more we could have wished for and we look forward to returning!

Sorry that it's taken so long to write this review, but I have thought and thought but still don't know exactly what to say so I will keep this one shorter than my usual reviews. We've stayed here many, many times. This visit was for 6 nights: 25 November - 1 December 2025. There were some arrival issues. Mat checked us in but didn't do too much else. I had notified Gilles about a month in advance that we were coming. He said he had reserved a King Premium with tub and separate shower for us on the 5th floor, but our room that Mat assigned us was a tiny Twin Classic #4103. They did put the beds together, and there was a separate tub and shower in the small bathroom. Also, for some reason, one could feel the subway rumbling below the hotel when in the bathroom? There was no moldy/mildew smell as we've often encountered here so we decided to just keep this room despite the size even though it was not the one promised by Gilles, who was on vacation during our stay but had not mentioned such in our correspondences! Housekeeping was great and always cleaned while we were out for lunch and more as I would stop by lounge and request such. I receive complimentary Club Lounge access as a reward for 40+ IHG stays in the prior calendar year so we spent much time in the lounge away from our cubicle. We saw some familiar faces, both on the staff and a few guests, in the lounge. The food in the evening is seasonal and was the same every night and got old! One night I slipped and fell near the kitchen door in the food area. The staff was very concerned and ready to call the medics, but I got up and was fine so I said no. One gentleman member of the staff provided extra attentive service for the remainder of our stay! M Laure made a visit to the lounge one evening but ignored us as he chatted with more affluent looking people. We had included, wonderful breakfast in the main restaurant each morning either due our Lounge access allowing such or my Diamond status or both? Even though the room was much smaller than our promised room, we had no odor issues and enough room for our items, a comfortable bed, and a functioning bathroom (with tub). Our view wasn't fantastic, but we don't go to Paris to look out our hotel room window. We will return in the future, especially if I keep my status as Diamond and my Club Lounge benefit that I still have in 2026. I will ask Gilles in our future emails if he will be on vacation as well???

We had a wonderful stay at Le Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux & Spa. The location is absolutely perfect, right in the heart of Bordeaux. The spa was truly exceptional – a beautiful and relaxing place where we could fully unwind after exploring the city. The atmosphere was elegant and peaceful. The service was outstanding. The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive to every detail, making our stay feel very special. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and we would definitely love to come back. I spent 4 nights at this hotel and enjoyed a fantastic overall experience. The location is convenient and walkable to top museums, shopping areas and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and I slept extremely well! The staff was exceptional. The concierge arranged personal shopping at Printemps (an offer available to guests at the hotel), restaurant reservations and transportation. I had lounge access and the food quality and service were excellent. I look forward to staying again on my next trip!

The InterContinental Paris Le Grand is undoubtedly one of the stronger hotels in the IHG and InterContinental portfolios. In many other cities, it would rank among the top properties in the market. However, as a self-proclaimed 5-star luxury hotel in Paris, a city brimming with world-class 5-star options and several Palace-designated hotels, it faces exceptionally high expectations, especially with its rates (my suite was priced at around US$1,200 per night). While the hotel is undeniably nice, particularly for its stunning architecture and rich history, strip those away and the execution of services, amenities, and overall standards feels more like a solid 4-star international business hotel. Its massive size contributes to an impersonal, cruise-ship-like atmosphere, where proactive service is rare and requests are hit-or-miss. Key disappointments included: -- No pre-arrival email. -- No welcome letter at check-in. -- No IHG elite benefit selection at check-in. -- No club lounge check-in or check-out for guests with club lounge access. -- Doormen do not staff the first set of doors. You expect a doorman at the main doors. -- Room not ready until nearly two hours after the official check-in time. -- Mold and mildew in the shower, which is inexcusable. -- Considerable wear-and-tear in the room; think scuffs, scratches and other damage on walls, door frames, and furniture. -- Bar of soap and bathrobes not provided unless requested. -- Missing in-room basics (umbrella, shoe horn, etc.). -- No real turndown service is provided. When turndown service is provided (which was not every night), it was done minimally with no linen turndown and no trash removal. -- It took four attempts (and two escalations to management) to get the correct pillows. As a service recovery, I received more than adequate compensation in the form of IHG points, but no one from the hotel followed up during the rest of my stay to check on my experience or offer assistance. The Club Lounge is a beautiful space, but its hours are limited. Moreover, there is virtually no change in the food on daily basis. So by the second or third day of your stay, the food selection becomes very tired. At night, the evening option is generally limited to one or two fried foods, some shrimp and some oysters plus cheeses, etc. By 5:30 or 6 p.m., the main items are mostly gone and replacement is limited. Breakfast runs from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (a bit late for business travelers; 6:30 a.m. would be preferable on weekdays). Ideally at night, cheese and desserts would be available until 9 p.m. and the bar open until 10 p.m. The overall vibe resembles a large Las Vegas resort or cruise ship more than an intimate Parisian luxury stay. Staff, especially in the stunning lobby bar, appear stretched thin amid conferences, walk-ins, and overall high volume. Given the rates (in cash or IHG points), Paris offers far superior options for a true 5-star hotel experience. If paying cash and not using IHG points, booking the InterContinental Le Grand I would advise comparing rates with the Park Hyatt, Prince de Galles, Sofitel Le Faubourg, Hyatt Madeleine, and Hôtel du Louvre. Those are direct competitors. The InterContinental's historic charm and prime location are highlights, but the property is just a 4-star hotel with better architecture, better decor and a more notable history.

Le personnel est disponible et très courtois et les bâtiments abritant l'hôtel sont simplement somptueux. Pour les déjeuners d'affaire, cela était très pratique de disposer du restaurant du Café de la Paix, au sein de l'hôtel même. L'emplacement est également exceptionnel.
Cons: Nous avons été très étonnés que, pour un 5 étoiles de ce niveau et compte tenu des prix affichés, la qualité des chambres (pourtant premium) proposées soit très inégale et qu'aucun plateau de bienvenue ni attention n'aient été offerts par l'hôtel à notre arrivée dans la chambre. L'accueil en chambre est assez impersonnel.

From the moment you enter, you are surrounded by the opulence of the Second Empire, but it’s backed by modern comfort and professional service. Ambiance and Dining The highlight for me was the Grand Lounge. Enjoying a welcome drink under the massive glass ceiling of La Verrière was a perfect introduction to the stay. Similarly, the ambiance at Café de la Paix is second to none; it’s a historic landmark for a reason, and the dining experience there felt truly special. Room Quality and Wellness The guest rooms are very comfortable, successfully blending classic French decor with the amenities you expect from a luxury brand. While the public spaces are grand, I found the fitness center to be surprisingly small for a property of this size. I didn't get to experience the spa on this trip, but given the quality of the rest of the facility, it’s on my list for next time. Location and Service The location next to the Opéra Garnier is unbeatable for walkability and safety in the 9th Arrondissement. Service was timely and above average in Europe. A definitive 5-star stay for those who appreciate traditional French luxury and world-class dining architecture.

Cons: We have been incredibly disappointed by this hotel. We expected a 5 Star Hotel, but what we experienced was more like a 3 Star hotel. There was mould in the shower, a crack next to the spotlight in the shower and the room smelled of dust and generally seemed quite worn. The hotel lobby is so heavily perfumed, that I got a headache every time I entered and left the hotel. It was not a nice place to come back to after a long day. The mattress was hard, which meant that I could not sleep well either. The reception desk was always understaffed, which meant that guests had to wait for every small query. The staff was nice and upgraded my room when I told them that I was not satisfied. However, there was never any apology given and the new room had the same issues as the previous room.

I was very happy with my stay here. The hotel certainly has a classic feel. It's very charming in places, maybe a little old-fashioned in others. But despite the classic feel, I found it very livable and comfortable. My room was small, but very well kept. Solid bed, very nice TV. Bathroom was modern and new. I had room service once and, while pricey, was very good and showed up quickly. All my experiences with the staff were flawless. And the neighborhood is great. Scenic, safe, easy to walk to much of what Paris has to offer. I would definitely stay here again anytime.

Beautiful hotel. The hotel is stunning. We had a short 2 night stay early/ and used points. Check- in can be long - but grateful for a beautiful upgraded room. One of our favorite rooms we have stayed in from our many travels. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated with a huge bathroom. The staff were warm and friendly- but we found the service in the bar to be very very slow. The location is great - very close to the shops, Opera, metro. We also appreciate the wonderful anniversary/birthday goodies and treats! I’m framing the beautiful card from the staff - the cover of the card is of the Opera House. Thank you for making our stay very special bay your beautiful hotel!

The location alone cannot compensate for the poor room conditions and lack of customer care
Cons: The room smelled unpleasant, was extremely small, and poorly heated. Both the room and especially the bathroom were unacceptably cold, making even a simple shower uncomfortable. The shower itself did not function properly. Despite raising these issues at reception and speaking directly with the manager, I was refused a refund for prepaid nights and forced to stay, with no real effort to resolve the situation.

The Le Grande looks nice, and is in an equally nice location. During our visit, the Le Grande fell short of being a luxury hotel and was not good value for the price. Reception has no cue, so staff take guests according to who is most pushy, instead of who is next. Both when we arrived and departed, although we were ‘next in line’, the staff assisted people who pushed up to the desk - like trying to get a drink at a crowded bar - not what you would expect from a luxury hotel. The room was nice, but the level of service/quality control was weak. No glasses or water in the room, a window curtain in the bath (room 2306) had a gross stain that could have easily been cleaned had the service staff/supervisors done a thorough job on getting the room ready, and an odd piece of plastic had been left on a table - not what you would expect from a luxury hotel. We also shared the same issue as other reviewers: our room was loud. We repeatedly heard loud footsteps above and below us, very early and very late - not what you would expect from a luxury hotel. On the plus side, as noted the hotel looks nice and is in a nice location, the bed was super comfortable, the doormen are very welcoming, and the eggs to order station at breakfast makes a wonderful omelette. However, with all the fabulous hotels in Paris to chose from, we would not chose the Le Grande again.

Top class hotel with nice amenities and service. Location is great, hotel is luxury with historic vibe. The only thing i would improve in my room 13... is that toilet was separate from bathroom and this toilet space had no sink to wash hands, still there is a place for tiny sink if possible.

Cons: Classic room ,small, the shower was broken. Dirty toilets on the ground floor of the hotel Spa! No swimming pool. Only steam sauna and finnish sauna. Unprofessional therapists (worst massage ever). Only one bottle of water (every time you need to ask , but they bring not more than one again). Housekeeping does not clean cups or glasse, simply take it and don’t return. Minibar is not being refilled.

I first came to this magnificent hotel 13 years ago (2012); must have been in December time then also. It then remained my go to hotel every time when visiting Paris with my partner. This hotel has always remained charming in appearance (i.e. the ground floor) and the food provided by the Café de La Paix has always been of high quality. The staff working in the café have always been polite, helpful and welcoming. "Don't judge a book by its cover" as they say... Many of the staff working at the hotel are very educated and are from all backgrounds of life and they should all be treated with the utmost respect! A special thank you to Steve and Luca (during the breakfast service) with whom I had great conversations during our 4 day stay on this occasion. I do have to say that over the years, there are some things which have changed and have become disappointing... Our room was not serviced properly on two occasions and we did not receive an evening turn down. This may sound rather entitled but when you are paying for a luxury hotel you expect the level of service to be commensurate. The bathroom had cracks in the shower and bath tub. In my opinion the hotel management really needs to start thinking about renovating their rooms/hallways/carpets etc... Another example is that the shower temperature control knob was faulty. There was also a strange white mark on the tiles in the shower. When I asked for an extra bottle of water I was told bluntly " you only get one a day"... Something which shocked me. You will see from my profile that I/we have stayed in many five-star/luxury hotels around the world and not once have we have encountered these sort of remarks. The other thing that was disappointing was that when we had asked for a table at the Café de la Paix for a spot of lunch, we were not prioritised over people queuing from outside and had to wait. This was the first time this has ever happened. My understanding before was that hotel guests would get priority of seating to eat at the Café; and this was honoured previously on many occasions. I would have definitely given a 5 out 5 rating for this hotel before but instead I have given an over-generous 4 out of 5 rating due to the above occurrences. I have seen from the hotel management the usual response of "we take your comments seriously and we will make changes or we hope to provide you a better experience if you give us a chance on your next visit". But to be honest, this hotel and the history it carries, deserves to maintain its standards and issues should be corrected promptly. Having been a long term and loyal customer, the decline in standards are very evident/noticeable and should be addressed with actions not words. Don't get me wrong, this hotel is truly lovely but the managers need to take notice of the little details, which is what sets this establishment apart from the others.

Provavelmente a melhor experiência de Hotel que tive. Localização excecional, quartos excecionais. Existiram alguns problemas que rapidamente foram solucionados, sempre com brilhantismo pelos fabulosos funcionários. Gostava de deixar um apreço especial aos funcionários da receção : ELLIOT ( 🇬🇧) e QI ( 🇨🇳) , pois foram 10 estrelas comigo. Recordar-me-ei sempre da sua boa disposição e delicadeza. Um verdadeiro serviço 5 estrelas como há poucos no mundo. Muito obrigado.

Cons: La habitación, muy chica. Prefiero una cama Queen y mas espacio para moverme. Nunca entenderé por que los hoteles, con roperos tan chicos, no colocan ganchos o perchas en las paredes y algun trapo para limpiar algún derrame de café. ( no se me ocurre llamar al setvicio pars limpiar una mancha de cafe.) Tuve que usar sillas y sillones para colgar ropa en uso y secar derrames con toallas o papel sanitario.
