Truly excellent. At arrival, you are greeted by very friendly staff, very helpful and welcoming. Hotel is classic, maybe in the need of a slight uplift, but I wish that if they do it, they don't lose the great spirit and atmosphere. Room is very nice, not quite large, but spotless clean, well equipped, with good amenities, nice view, good working wi-fi and all what you need for a great stay. As an Ambassador Platinum Elite IHG client, had a room with access to the lounge and that was a highlight. Nice lounge, well served, with great staff and excellent for a quiet moment during the day. Whilst my wife was doing some sightseeing I needed to work, decided to do it from the lounge and not the room and was great, staff took great care of me and they were always trying to make me feel comfortable. Location is excellent, in a very busy road, but far enough not to be disturbed by the street noise, assuring a great night sleep. Bed, linens and pillows at the usual Intercontinental Standard. All in all, a great stay in a very good property, which I can definitely recommend !!!!!

My daughter and I were on our first trip to Spain and chose to spend three days at the IC Madrid. (We have status & lounge privileges, which bring benefits). The staff couldn’t have been nicer, especially Deyanira Rojas in the lounge. Out Premium Twin room was very spacious, with a desk and seating area in addition to the comfortable beds. The closet had ample space. The bathroom was generous, with separate toilet/bidet, double sink and bath/shower combo. The only minor problem I noticed was how uneven the floor was. There was never any danger of stumbling, but it was there. We hope to return again soon.

We would especially like to mention the team at reception, in the restaurant, and at the bar. The food was, as always, excellent, particularly the exceptional Sunday brunch. Hotel was very good. It’s beautiful in the main areas. The location can’t be beat. Pharmacies, restaurants and shopping are around the hotel. Depending on what you book, the rooms are small but well appointed. Streaming services have very few English options, but we were able to log into most networks on my IPad. The food is good and room service was excellent. Housekeeping was on top of things. Most staff spoke at least basic English if your Spanish is rusty. All in all, a great stay and we would recommend it.

Best hotel ever in Madrid! Everything was just perfect — the room, the comfort, the service, the attention to every detail. Don’t think twice about coming! Make sure to book the plan that includes the lounge — it’s absolutely worth it! The food, the drinks, and the service are top-notch. Cons: La habitación acusa algo el paso del tiempo: algunas esquinas tocadas, muebles con marcas, la moqueta tiene tiempo. Es acogedora pero se notan los años. La cama era creo que de 1,50, muy cómoda para, a día de hoy, para dos, algo escasa.

I’ve been a customer of this hotel for more than 10 years, and have been always very well looked after by all of its employees. On my last visit I noticed new faces. Several employees have retired and are enjoying their well earned pension. Special thanks on this ocassion to Susana, Inma and Deyanira at the Club. Also to all at the check-in desk: friendly and efficient. To the bellboys and to Carlos and Alejandro at the hotel entrance. Intercontinental Hotel Madrid was built in 1900 as the Palace of the Dukedom of Aliaga, designed by architect Eugenio Jiménez Correa. The building was transformed into the Intercontinental Hotel Madrid in 1953 and celebrated the 70th anniversary in 2023. Booking arrangement: Through the IHG and multiple travel websites Location and description: ------- Hotel is located about 12.2 km (7.5 mi) from the airport and about 3.1 km (1.9 mi) from attractions like Museo Nacional del Prado (Prado Museum) . If you drive, (or taxi or Uber), then the time of the drive is about 9-15 min to the locations mentioned. The hotel is surrounded by many restaurants. Located within walking distance of 30 -45 min of most major attractions and 5-10 min of many restaurants (including at least 2 Michelin star restaurants) , Intercontinental Hotel Madrid is a great hotel to stay at. The hotel is part of the IHG group if you want to earn hotel points. The lounge has a hot breakfast, afternoon tea and "light" dinner (Enough to get you full if you have to attend a concert or evening show. You can also eat a few bites to tie you over for your big dinner later). Rooms are very comfortable. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a Sunday brunch from 1 pm to 4 pm which is terrific and over the top. Think too much food to eat with live music. I took only 1 bite or the smallest portion I can get and could barely eat half of the food available. There is free champagne, white wine, red wine, soda and coffee accompanying the buffet. Definitely worth a try if you have no plans on a Sunday or want to take a break in the afternoon. Make sure you skip breakfast. I recommend skipping dinner the night before also. If you have club lounge access in your reservation, please check in at the Intercontinental lounge on the 2nd floor (floor 1 in Europe since the first floor is consider floor zero). Rooms have classical decor with flat screen televisions. Bathrooms are made of granite and tiles and includes a bidet. I stayed in the Intercontinental Madrid at the end of September. The hotel is super well located on Paseo de la Castellana, walking distance from a business district and points of interest in the city. The neighborhood is full of great restaurants, bars, and clubs. The room was nice, premium as expected, and I loved the touch from the room service personnel, writing a note leaving the name of the person who made the room that day. That’s personal touch! I also loved the fact that when I arrived to the reception, give that I am a Platinum IHG member, I was given a voucher for a drink at the bar. It is a small gesture, but one that matters for people who travel for business frequently. Later that week I enjoyed a “cańita and patatas fritas” thinking: “that’s a personal touch!

We enjoyed a 4 night stay at the Intercontinental with Virtuoso upgrades to Club Lounge access courtesy of our agent. From check in to departure the service was impeccable. The concierge arranged a private tour to El Escorial but when that fell through due to illness, pivoted promptly to a pleasant and efficient taxi driver who took us instead. Staff in the Club Lounge, especially Deyanira, were helpful and pleasant. The location is a reasonable walk from the Prado and other central locations; the surrounding area is pleasant to wander around. Would certainly recommend this hotel.

I have stayed here many times, and it never disappoints. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable. The ac works great, and the bathrooms and showers are quite nice. The rooms have a hot pot kettle for instant coffees and teas. The lobby bar is very inviting, and the breakfast buffet is great. The outdoor dining patio is very nice. However, it is the staff that makes this hotel. Everyone from the front desk to the bar to the housekeeping is amazing. The service and hospitality are at a very high level. I will say, Christina, of the breakfast hostess department,is especially kind. Her morning greetings and kindness are a welcome way to start a morning. I highly recommend staying here. A walkable distance to the Prada museum and downtown.

First time here. Find this a little quaint....decor is not modern, but functional. Furniture in room could be called dated....80s - 90s. Flat screen TV and proximity sensor door locks though. Nice hotel though ....very comfy beds, though the pillows are really wide. Well equipped fitness room with treadmills, ellipticals and cycles. Weight machines and free weights. Open 24 hours...2 thumbs up. Property is proximate to many dining options too.

We try to stay at an intercontinental hotel/resort when we can because we love their club level. The Madrid ICH didn’t disappoint. We got upgraded to a junior suite which was spacious and lovely. The club lounge was excellent as always . Great breakfast selection and tasty snacks later in the afternoon. Great location, great service and an overall fantastic experience. It’s why we keep coming back.

Loved our stay again here, shame this time the brunch wasnt avaioable (as no sunday brunch in august), but that's my fault for not researching before! Great walks along the Castellana, and a short ride to all the tourist bits in Madrid! Club Lounge was great with spectacular ambassadors like Jose Antonio and Deyanira. Also at the bar, the team on Sunday 24th evening was great! Looking forward to our return for that elusive Sunday brunch🤣

Was here for 4 nights on a work trip and would definitely go back. The service is very warm and friendly from everyone there. The room I had was very spacious, breakfast was excellent with a perfect selection. The omelettes were perfectly cooked. I had dinner in the restaurant on one night and the lamb just melted in my mouth. The concierge and the people at the door fell over themselves to be helpful. Special mention for Suzannah in the Club room and Eva in the Spa who I really enjoyed chatting to. I did not want to leave this hotel and would happily recommend.

Even with some last-minute changes, everything was handled calmly and professionally. You can tell they care about the details and really want things to go well. The hotel is ideally located in Madrid to take advantage of all of the local sights and easy access to shops and restaurants and other items of interest. The hotel staff were very friendly and professional from start to finish and were only too happy to assist. Our room was very well presented and was serviced each day to a very high level. The room was spacious and the facilities were of a high level and the bathroom was just as good. The restaurant was also of a high standard with great service staff and great food, a real pleasure to dine there. All in all, an outstanding hotel and is Highly Recommended.

We love IHG hotels. The room was spacious and I loved all the mirrors 🙂. Handy when someone was in the bathroom. The pillows were so soft too. The concierge told us about a specialty paella restaurant nearby and was very helpful. The breakfast was amazing - so many choices!

As always, we loved our stay at the hotel. Of all my trips to Asia, Latin America, and Europe, this is the best hotel. The GM and all of the staff, from the concierge, restaurant, club lounge and cleaning staff are all amzing and I always enjoy my conversations with them. This hotel is definitely my second home, followed by the IC in Mexico City and Buenos Aires. I really love the 7th floor balconies, and the location of the hotel to all my favorite museums. The club lounge is superb as well.

We have been spending Friday-Monday to attend our friends’ wedding in Madrid. From checkin to checkout we have been treated like royals. Andrés welcomed us at reception. He was warm and professional. We were upgraded in a beautiful suite. The room was spotless, the bed and pillow so comfortable we would have spent the whole day in bed! Having lounge access we have had breakfast there every morning in the care of amazing Deyanira Rochas who has been making sure we had the best experience. The poached eggs were superb. I’m very picky about a clean room. This was exceptionally clean. The room was well stocked and nice. Club lounge was great our breakfast waitress Deyanira was outstanding. Her attention to detail and customer service was outstanding. Susana the club reservation manager was lovely. From doorman to cleaning service the hotel was very attentive. We did not get to try the brunch, the hotel is famous for but maybe next time. Nos mimaron mucho. Hasta la próxima.

My daughter and I had the best stay at the InterContinental Madrid. The location was great and the service was impeccable. The hotel was lovely and our room was just right for our mother daughter weekend. The fitness center was adequate and we enjoyed massages by talented technicians in the wellness rooms. Everyone at the hotel was pleasant, welcoming and professional. Our concierge, Daniel, was especially exceptional. He was so attentive and helped us plan the perfect weekend. Of special note, he secured tickets for us to visit the Prado Museum, guided us with mapping out the best way to see the main sights we had prioritized and introduced some new ones for us such as the rooftop of the RIU for breathtaking views of Madrid. He also provided dining recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed (especially Botin) and told us about the Rastro Flea Market. Jose in the lounge was also a delight. He cheerfully served us cava, cocktails and bar snacks during the evenings. The breakfast buffet was delicious, offering anything one could want with fresh and flavorful options. I will absolutely stay here again and recommend with confidence to anyone traveling to Madrid for business or pleasure.

The location was amazing, but the service was even better! They created you every time, helped you get transportation, gave great dining and attractions advice. Victor at the Concierge really knows his stuff with fine dining! Definitely get his reccomendations. My wife and I enjoyed the fine wine and beer of Spain, and the bartending staff was incredibly knowledgeable with different wines and were incredibly friendly and quick with service. They really did treat us like family. We will be staying here again!
Cons: The only negative was the size of the bathrooms and the gym equipment. The bathrooms can be tight with 2 people using simultaneously. Also, the shower is more accommodated to Spanish population. I'm a 6'3" 215lb American, shower was a tight squeeze. Also, the gym is small but has enough space. But of that space 80% of the equipment is cardio. Once again, catered to the Spanish way of working out, with a lot of cardio, but not much strength building.

I tried to cancel my reservation due to an unexpected surgery that I needed to have on June 25th resulting in me being non weight bearing for 8 weeks and therefore unable to travel. The hotel was completely inflexible refusing to refund my pre-payment despite me being a regular customer in the past. I am a business owner of a US based company who has a subsidiary in Madrid. This requires me to make regular visits to Spain. I can guarantee that future visits will not include staying at this hotel.

The breakfast buffet is excellent. It’s not located near the Madrid central attractions, but the overall service makes it worth it to stay a little further out. I would not hesitate to stay here again. I cannot think of a single negative thing about this hotel.

One incident to report was that when our car service came to pick us up he encountered a problem with his vehicle not starting (did not recognize the electronic key) and this was caused by the hotel having blocked all electronic communication which prevented his car to start and we had to make other arrangements. We subsequently found out that this blockage was due to a foreign dignitary staying at the hotel and the hotel for security reasons blocked all tele communication services without letting anyone know. Unacceptable.

The staff at the Intercontinental are exceptional. Concierge sorted diner reservations before we arrived and then recommended other restaurants while we were in Madrid. The door man was also so welcoming and helpful as were the bar and restaurant staff. The rooms are beautifully cleaned and we didn’t have a single issue during our stay. The hotel will soon be ready for a refurb as it’s looking a little tired in places but it didn’t detract from our stay. I highly recommend a stay here when in Madrid.

From 20 years I’ve been a guest. Intercontinental Madrid has a overall ambiance that enchants me. The concierge Alfredo I think reserved me a place extra at the Corral de la Moreria another must to go in Madrid.

Very disappointed. How far have Hotel Intercontinentals fallen? Whole place need a complete scrub down and refresh. Common areas were fine but rooms were not 4/5 star. Plastic one piece shower floor. Grout and corners of bathroom stained/dirty from years of build up. Overall great area and great workers but accommodations left much to be desired from the brand

Courteous and very helpful staff. Checked me in early after arriving on an early flight from the U.S. Breakfast and lunch were outstanding. Everyday they would leave two water bottles in the room and a snack (bonbons, nuts, fruit). I would stay there again!

The service is impeccable! The staff were wonderful. They are gracious , polite , helpful and available. They brought wonderful treats to us ever afternoon. One day it’s strawberry with chocolate dipping sauce, the other day it’s assorted fruits. I know staying there is pricey, but their service is priceless!

NO MOVIES AVAILABLE IN THE ROOMS. I really like the hotel and the staff. Really good! BUT! I wanted to stay my room one night to chill and watch movies. I called the front desk. They said movies are no longer available in the rooms. LAME! Otherwise the hotel is fantastic.
