We love the Hotel Lord Byron! We have stayed here for 22 years and it never disappoints! The location, friendly staff and service keep us coming back. It is a very quiet oasis in a crowded city.

My wife and I stayed two nights at this hotel as part of a holiday package. The hotel is located in an affluent residential part of Rome and is a fair distance from the normal sightseeing attractions. The location was not an issue for us as we had already visited Rome on numerous occasions. We checked in at 10.30am and were told that our room would be available at 2.00pm. The receptionist provided the various check-in guests with a tourist map and used a pen to highlight Rome's main tourist spots. I asked him to highlight the hotel's location but it wasn't within the boundaries of the tourist map ? This hotel has kerb appeal and is a grand, classical example of a converted patrician villa. Access to the hotel is by 13 (unlucky for some) steps which are fairly steep. We decided to spend the time until 2.00pm getting our bearings and familiarising ourselves with the area. We are elderly and enjoy walking on level surfaces as my wife can find stairs a bit of a challenge. We walked to Bioparca di Roma which houses the main zoo in Rome and spent some time at the cafe near the zoo entrance enjoying two cappuccinos and and two large danish pastries for the princely sum of 6 euros 60 cents. We returned to the hotel after 2.00pm and my wife unfortunately tripped on the final entrance step and fell into the reception area on level 2. The staff were attentive and provided an ice pack after which the male receptionist advised that our room was ready and we should follow him. We were required to firstly take an elevator ride then be confronted by another set of internal stairs to access the allocated room. I advised the receptionist that the additional stairs were a potential hazard for my wife and could we get a more accessible room. His immediate response was to tell me that the hotel was fully booked. After a short time in this room I could see that my wife was still distressed and I again approached the receptionist and reasoned with him that although I knew that the hotel was full, surely as the time was 2.30pm not all guests have arrived and could he look again at switching our room for one which did not involve further internal stairs. He said to leave the matter with him and eventually we were moved to room 204 which is level with the reception area. We stuck with this room although there were a few niggles. There was a loose toilet seat and a bathroom door which was warped and did not close. The bathroom was plush Italian marble with a few unsightly brown stains which is natural oxidation where water lies. The shower (weak) is over the bath and was a no no for my wife. Following the accident we decided to eat in the hotel and ordered room service of a shared hot pizza and lukewarm french fries and a beer for 48 euros. The following morning we took the elevator to level 0 for the included breakfast to be met by another flight of internal stairs to access the breakfast/restaurant area. The breakfast was adequate. We spent the remainder of the day at the zoo and it is well worth a visit. The Lord Byron hotel is a classic, clean, well staffed hotel which will suit the majority of guests but for those guests with mobility/accessible issues it might prove to be a step too far.

Location: Please note the location of the hotel is out of the main central area. You will have to walk on foot through the park into the city before starting your day sightseeing. Depending on your walking speed this could be 20-30 minutes. Of course you can also taxi into the city if you wish. Location was not an issue for us and it was nice that it quiet and also in an area where it was clean and free from graffiti and homeless people. Staff: FOH staff were very polite, their English was very good and they were all very warm and friendly, greeting us every day and asking what our plans were and where we had been. Can not fault the staff at all and I thank them all for their big smiles and friendly approach. The cleaners were also respectful and left the room clean and clothes neatly folded in new piles each day. Breakfast: We paid for breakfast and it was a sorry uninspiring start to the day. We left and went elsewhere for breakfast every day after that. The coffee was okay though! You can definitely pick up some nicer croissants (cornetto's) from nearby bakeries and cafe's. The poor breakfast made us think twice about eating an evening meal there. Room: We had a standard double I think. It was typical Italian red carpeted floor and marble bathroom. It was basic though and lacked any wow factor. Positives - the bed was comfortable, the room was clean. Negatives - The closet space had only 8 hangers which made hanging all our clothes up impossible. The hanging space was above the drawers leaving not enough room for my Italian inspired midi and maxi dresses. The toilet seat (at least we had one as It became apparent in the city that toilet seats are a luxury!) is not soft close; if you are used to one then a few startled cries may happen. The shower which ran hot every morning (a positive) is above the bath, however the bath did not drain fast enough meaning it filled up whilst you were showering so you can add a paddle to your experience. One of the USB sockets did not work and one plug socket did not work. The coffee machine had not been cleaned since the last user; there was water in the tank and the tank needed a good clean, therefore we skipped using the machine. If you have a thing for clean linen, then this may put you off, as a pillow case has been stitched closed over the pillow and they put a clean pillowcase over that, meaning that the one inside is old and yellow! Lastly, the key holder which you put your key into in order to turn your electrics on needed a helping hand of some folded card wedged with the key in order to keep the lights on. There was a basic hairdryer which worked, but no iron and no small ironing board; something which we are used to finding in hotel rooms nowadays. Remember to bring a travel iron with you! Overall the hotel was fine for a bed for the night, however we were very surprised it is listed as a 'small luxury hotel of the world' as there really were no luxuries.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share this experience so others don’t go through what I did. I stayed at this hotel in May 2025 as a Hilton Diamond member, and from start to finish, the stay was filled with issues: Construction: The hotel is undergoing loud construction but still charges guests full price while denying there’s really any noise. Both mornings I was woken up by hammering and banging directly above my room. Outdated & uncomfortable: The entire hotel feels like stepping into the worst parts of the 1980s—stale smell, old carpets, stuffy rooms, no modern adjustments. It’s long overdue for renovation, but unfortunately, they’re doing it while guests are staying there and charging the same. Room chaos: I was moved from a noisy room to another with a broken AC in the middle of the night, then back again, only to be told later that another room that was less noisy was available. The disorganization was exhausting. Bad food: Their room service food was of such low quality that it made us sick. The hotel flat-out denied this possibility. The room service menu was so bad we picked chicken sandwiches to play it safe but a child could've made them they were that bad. We also ordered gelato since were in Rome and it was the worst gelato of the trip. Very low quality and brightly colored artificial looking. Forced transfer: At checkout, the front desk pushed us into a private transfer to the train station that we never asked for. An Uber would have cost €30, but they imposed their own service as a kind gesture—later charging it against us. The aftermath was even worse than the stay. Despite months of back-and-forth, the hotel refused to take responsibility. They insisted their food “couldn’t be bad,”the noise wasn't that loud, treated the unwanted transfer as a “gift,” and after endless circular emails, only agreed to refund one night—but only after deducting things we didn’t want in the first place. In short: The hotel is old, stuffy, and smells bad. Construction noise is ongoing, but they’ll deny it's even that loud. Food is poor quality. Management is dismissive, defensive, and unwilling to accept fault. Even Hilton Diamond members are treated with disregard. I’ve stayed at Hilton properties all over the world and never had an experience this unprofessional. Don’t waste your time or money here—there are far better options where your comfort and concerns will be respected.

When travel delays threaten to ruin a special birthday trip, an unexpected overnight stay at Lord Byron made everything better. We had stayed here once before about 5 years ago. It was a pleasant as we remembered. We were greatest with kindness and care when we arrived after almost 48 hours of airline delays. The beautiful bathroom was a welcome sight for a shower. A lovely dinner followed at a nearby restaurant recommended by the front desk. There is nothing better than a comfortable bed and a great nights sleep to make one feel 100% better. That sleep followed by the lovely breakfast was just what we needed to continue our birthday travels. We intend to return again and spend some extra time at one of our favorite places.

As a Hilton Diamond Member and loyal guest of Hotel Lord Byron (HLB) since 2012, I’m devastated by its shocking decline, clearly driven by poor management and ownership. Checking in yesterday at 9 AM after booking the prior night, I checked out today at 1 PM—enduring a frustrating hour-long process—due to an utterly deplorable stay marred by rude reception, sketchy service, and dishonest practices. Despite booking for early check-in, most hotels wouldn’t charge for the prior night given my 9 AM arrival, yet this was the least of the issues. After resting, I requested room cleaning in person that afternoon, but it was ignored; my room remained uncleaned through checkout. Requests for pillows and coffee were disregarded, construction noise ruined sleep, and the breakfast was a sketchy, poorly replenished mess unfit for a “luxury” SLH property. My Diamond status was acknowledged, but the “amenities”—standard WiFi and one bottle of water, given to all guests—were a stingy insult, reflecting management’s failure to honor elite guests. The afternoon receptionist confirmed I could check out early without charges, and I informed the evening manager, Simone, of my early checkout. Yet, this meant nothing to the front desk staff at checkout, revealing abysmal internal communication. These staff were confused, rude, and dismissive, ignoring my requests and comments. When I quietly and respectfully noted their rudeness and lack of follow-through, they defensively talked over me, then played the victim, transferring their angst onto me. Worse, I was wrongly charged €400 ($430) per night for two unspent nights and a comped transfer from a prior stay six weeks ago—a blatant display of dishonesty. Even the grips apologized for the front desk’s behavior, while the exemplary Cheema witnessed the service failures. Spending 340 days a year in hotels, I’ve rarely encountered such appalling service and deceptive practices. Poor leadership has gutted this once-cherished hotel, failing to deliver basic services or coordinate internally. I’ve relocated to another Rome hotel at $500/night. I urge management to refund the €800+ in wrongful charges and address this catastrophic decline.

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family of 4 in two rooms. Real gem of a place. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and kind. Spoke English really well. It’s in a nice quiet part of town but a cheap taxi or walk to the tourist areas. Breakfast was really amazing. Will definitely come back next time we are in Rome!

Service was excellent — gracious, friendly, and professional. Shary and Ivan were particularly helpful. Our room was a nice size, and we managed to get one with a balcony. It was comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed, with a beautiful wood floor, and a large, tiled classic bath. Linens were very nice, and our bed was comfortable. We had a $100 credit thru Amex, which we used in their Bistro — pizza, salad, wine, and Aperol Spritz were good. The Bistro is the same room as their fine dining room, which is very elegant. Their breakfast rooms are also very elegant, perhaps the most elegant of any we’ve come across — and not at all crowded when we were there. We had several lunches at the nearby (10 min walk) Ristorante Ambasciata d’Abruzzo, which we really enjoyed. Our next hotel was the Intercontinental in Lisbon, whose breakfast area was such a stark contrast the next day — large, crowded, and noisy — with a long wait to get on the lift (and to check-in the day before). There’s a lot to be said for small hotels… We highly recommend.

Unfortunately, the hotel does not point out the long-lasting construction site on the 5th floor when booking. The extremely loud work, which starts at 8am and continues into the afternoon, can be heard throughout the hotel, even at breakfast on the 0th floor. However, the staff did not care that the stay was massively affected by this. In addition, the service in particular does not meet 5-star standards. This begins on arrival: the bellboy prefers to walk up and down the entrance instead of helping with the luggage. The reception staff are particularly keen to generate additional revenue, be it through pushy recommendations of restaurants, trips with caddies or ticket sales. However, if you ask for a second bottle of water in your room, this is denied with horror but very firmly. The rooms are also not up to 5-star standard: the air conditioning barely works, the sockets are loose and the shower and toilet drains are blocked. It is even difficult to get a room with two beds. Unfortunately, the manager is also not bothered by the shortcomings, does not look for satisfactory solutions and then does not answer any more emails. All in all, far too overpriced for the poor service.

We stayed for a couple of days at the Hotel Lord Byron. We stayed at the hotel’s sister property, Hotel Regency in Florence, a couple years ago and had a wonderful time. The hotel is located in a residential suburb (outside the city walls) near a lot of posh embassy buildings. Having been to Rome several times over the past two years, this was a refreshing change. The ability to walk through the Villa Borghese Gardens into Rome was just lovely. The area is very quiet and it was actually pretty easy to get to restaurants and sights we wanted to visit, but we’ve been to Rome several times. The food and beverages at the hotel are simply exceptional. The quality of the food in the restaurant for breakfast was just sublime. The service each morning was efficient and friendly. The bellhop and doormen were very helpful. Special shout out to Cheema, who was so friendly, kind and helpful. As others have noted, the hotel is really in need of some renovations. We stayed in the family room for a couple of nights and the room was straight out of the 1990s. Watermelon carpet, chipped furniture, bathroom fixtures were literally falling apart. Additionally, there was some noise from pipes that were loud all night. We were a little surprised by the condition of the room since we understand that the hotel was shut down for renovations from January 2025 through March 2025. We had assumed that they had updated their rooms, but that’s clearly not the case. We let management know after our first night, but since we only had one more night at the hotel, we didn’t move rooms. I would note that they were accommodating and sympathetic. The hotel is undertaking a renovation (we could hear the noise coming from the upper floors). Please do keep that in mind, as I think the renovations will take some time given the extent required. All in all, I think the service was very friendly, the location was nice, but the condition of the room left a lot to be desired. We would consider returning, but only once renovations are completed.

this was a lovely hotel.. the best quality was the incredibly personable and helpful staff. the rooms were comfortable and well appointed... my only criticism is that the rooms are getting a bit dated but that is more than made up for by the intimacy and warmth of the facility and the staff.. the hotel is a bit out of the tourist area but that was a good thing as it is in a quiet neighborhood

I only wrote reviews for two reason, either worse or great . Hotel Lord Byron is one of the best hotel I stayed in Rome . Long ago I stayed in Lord Byron on 11 November 2015 for my birthday trip for dream hotels . It’s not a big Fancy hotel but a posh Boutique hotel with its inner sophistication. The concierge sent me a champagne as a birthday gift in the room before I check in . Every corner of the hotels has delicate balances with Italian luxurious textures, massive furniture and works of might be contradicting the concept of minimalism. Furthermore, balanced by spatial orientation and ample natural light. Service was absolutely great without mentioning. The breakfast were simple but variety different Italian delicacy. I won’t provide photo , cause other reviewers already posted . But yet , once you go , you won’t regret.

Simply cannot be trusted. There is no way this hotel should be in SLH. They just do not care about guests and will do everything to overcharge. And the rooms are not nearly as nice as they appear in the photos. There are so many nice hotels in Rome to choose from - don’t ruin your stay.

We enjoyed our stay in this luxurious boutique hotel. The room was clean, spacious, tasteful decorated and well maintained. Hotel wifi worked seamlessly and hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Here are some comments about my stay over four nights in September. The patio room we stayed in had an outdated bathroom with tired and worn fittings. The bath had two dark marks that looked like burns to the enamel. There was no natural light so make up had to be put on using very unflattering down lighters over the mirror. The shower took at least five minutes to heat up - goodness knows how much water was wasted in the process. The toilet seat was loose - I asked Housekeeping twice to tighten it up but there was no improvement. If they came to the room to do it, it must have been while we were out as we didn’t see them or get any feedback about it. One of my bed pillows was lumpy. I asked twice for a new one, which finally arrived the next day. There was no sofa or comfortable chair. There was no make up mirror with natural light. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. The room’s ‘terrace’ was not a pretty area to sit in outside. There was a bit of green netting haphazardly draped across one corner and very few plants. We sat out there only once as a result, but then had to go inside because of mosquito or midge bites. Breakfast was excellent and serving staff were helpful. The reception staff who gave us advice on restaurants and bookings did a good job. I’m afraid I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again. There were too many issues, the service wasn’t good enough, and I think some time and money could be invested in updating and improvements.

The room in which we were initially placed had only one armchair, and the mattress was terrible as it folded into the middle. The interior was dated and the room was small. We requested a new room because of the mattress and the second room was nicer with bathroom upgrades, two armchairs, and a new mattress. The breakfast dining area is located in the basement and there is a distinct and strong musty odor in the area. It is quite unpleasant. The staff was excellent and assisted us as best they could. They were responsive to our needs and took time to make our stay comfortable.

This should be a 5 star hotel but non of that is true; to start with the extremely bad management; they gave us 2 rooms for 5 persons while we were with just 3 persons (it was prepaid) and they didn’t do anything to solve it and even lied about things. On top of that, the bathrooms were extremely old (leakage at toilets, cold water, smelly, and much more). In general, so not worth the money and not advisable to go here.

The room was lovely, location was great for what we were looking for - quiet area outside of Rome after 10 busy days of sightseeing. We love walking, so didn't mind the 15 minute walk to restaurants, etc. HOWEVER, much of this was lost when we woke up to construction above our heads both mornings. We were not made aware in advance, we paid full rates, and we were lied to when questioned about the start time of construction. I would have expected more professionalism.

Small and beautiful hotel in Art Deco style. The attention to detail in the decor is really gorgeous. The location is perfect. Close to the main attractions in a lovely and safe area of Rome. Excellent choices of foods at breakfast, amazing fruits and good coffee. The elegant ambiance of the restaurant made each meal a memorable experience. My room was large and bed comfortable. Liked that I could open the window for fresh air. The staff were so helpful, attentive and friendly. My favourite Mr.IVAN was super-helpful all the way through. Would highly recommend this hotel. Really enjoyed our four night stay at the Lord Byron. The staff were incredibly helpful in getting us checked in at a ridiculous hour (1.30 am!) and in helping us to get convenient local parking. the lobby is beautiful with old family memorabilia and great art deco statues and artwork. you can order drinks there and have a nice time relaxing and enjoying the ambience. also, the bar downstairs which is open in the evening is quite a hall of mirrors and marble. the breakfasts were good with the usual mix of cured meats, pastries, breads, fruit, and eggs. you could also order something a la carte if you wanted. our room was a panorama suite on the (almost) top floor and it had two good sized rooms, and truly blackout curtains in the bedroom! it was also good for entertaining our traveling friends who were with us for four nights in the same hotel. the hotel itself is outside of central rome and the borghese gardens, so it might be a bit of a trek for some people who don't like to walk. it only took us 15 minutes to get to central rome though and we like walking. we would definitely stay here again. only negative which is minor is that some parts of furniture and trim could probably use a little refurbishing. however, overall size of rooms, relative value for (almost) central rome, and helpfulness of staff make up for any minor blemishes.

Love the hotel. The staff, out of this world friendly and helpful. The hotel itself in great condition and very charming. The only problem is the location. If you want to stay outside of the old city, you will love it. Otherwise it’s a good 30-40 minute hike or a good $20-$60 Uber ride each way. I would highly recommend this hotel to someone who has rented a car or has business in that particular area.

Hotel Lord Byron is a wonderful hotel in Rome. We had a four night stay there in March and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Location - in the Parioli district, just north of the Borghese Gardens. You’re not in the thick of the hustle & bustle of the city, but we loved that about it. It’s a 15 min walk to the Spanish steps through the gardens, which in itself is beautiful. It was really easy to get a taxi for trips a bit further afield or when we were feeling lazy! Room - we had a superior room overlooking the front courtyard of the hotel. The art deco style is evident throughout the hotel and maintained in the rooms - it was like being on a Gatsby set, we loved it. The bed was incredibly comfy and of a good size. The bathroom was marble throughout and felt very indulgent. Breakfast - the breakfast was one of the best things about the hotel. It was of a continental style, with plenty of buffet options to choose from, but the kitchen would also make things like omelettes/eggs Benedict etc to order if you so wished. It was also a real treat to have silver cutlery and china crockery for every meal! The breakfast is taken downstairs in another sumptuous dining room - it’s on basement level but does not feel dark or dingy, like you sometimes experience in smaller hotels. The coffee was incredible too! Service - the hotel staff are impeccably attentive. From our initial greeting to check out, all of the staff made us feel very welcome. They speak excellent English too!

This property doesn’t have good customer service and it’s not a 5 star hotel. 5 star is St. Regis. They don’t care about your money. Read the negative review. I experienced it. They refused to refund me for a valid reason and their hotel partners even called then about how bad it was and they should refund me. They refused. Everyone says the rooms are outdated, service is terrible and they overcharged and I believe that. American Express has called this hotel on my behalf, Hyatt hotels, Chase, and others and they still refuse. Don’t stay here. Expedia wasn’t helpful either.

The staff was exceptional!! I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff was - from the breakfast waiters who greeted us every morning to the front desk that helped us book tickets (even when no tickets were available). The hotel offered a boutique style experience. Great breakfast and great amenities. The room was very comfortable and refreshed every day. The only thing that would have made it more wonderful is if there was a small restaurant/grocery store nearby.

(2) Waited 90+ minutes for room after travel to hotel (3) Gave us worst room in hotel, sagging mattress, etc. (4) Wouldn't move us to room we booked. (5) Lied about providing iron, said it was illegal

We booked a family room that had adjoining door, so we'd be close together, but still maintain our privacy. Unfortunately the rooms were located in the basement which had a damp smell and must not be completely sealed from the outdoors, as we noticed an ant infestation in one room, and we found a small slug in the other room complete with slime trail. This even happened without us opening the windows. I also noticed a patch of what appeared to be black mold in our bathroom, which is not only unsafe to breathe, but also disgusting. It was not the luxury experience we are used to, or had hoped for. Other than those issues, the staff were all friendly, and the breakfast was decent, and we had lunch on the first day, which was pretty good. Its located in an area of Rome that isn't so close to the monuments, and I'm going to stay closer to city center next time. Also, there is no real connection to Lord Byron, and the Art Deco decor is less period, but more 1980's deco inspired which was disappointing. Overall, it was ok, but anyone reading this should request a room on one of the upper floors.

We originally booked an apartment In the Trastevere area on hotel.com only to find out upon arrival in Rome that there was an error and the apartment we paid for was unavailable. Hotel.com rebooked us at the Lord Byron. The location was not where we hoped to be originally, but otherwise it exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommend this hotel, everything was perfect- great service beautiful clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast, kind and helpful staff. Exceptional hotel, would definitely stay here again.

NOT THE SAME AS THE PHOTOS! The hotel is dilapidated. Book just 1 night to try out if you wish to see it with your eyes - Beware that the hotel denied my request for refund after I left after 1 night. I booked 3 nights. Upon arrival, I was disappointed already with the condition of the hotel - on my estimate, partly renovated several years ago and partly dating back to a decade or so. The furniture had scratches and worn-off marks everywhere. The mirror was physically eroded and stained. Had only instant coffee on the table - all facilities the equivalent of a 3-star motel. On my first night, I was woken up by the noise from next room from 12 am to 1 am. Surely something can be said of unbecoming behaviours, but I would not expect this kind of experience in a 5-star hotel. Called front desk but essentially nothing could be done apart from asking the other guests. The very next day I asked to check out and asked if I could have refund of the 2 nights I would not stay - the hotel told me that it was only because I booked through hotels.com so that they could only deal with the request from the platform. After I came back and asked platform for refund, the hotel denied it even though they apologised for my disappointing experience. You are not appologetic, so do not pretend it - I wish the 200 something usd I wasted on you is the last money you could trick people into paying.

The hotel is in a very pleasant and quiet residential area just outside the city limits and very close to the National Gallery of Modern Art, the Borghese Gallery and Gardens/Park, and the Zoo. This is a fantastic location for relaxing in after returning from the tourist filled ancient city centre attractions. Both the Hotel and the staff are extremely pleasing - the hotel exudes a cultured air and has a sense of stately calm and grandeur. The staff are very willing and helpful in all manners. The restaurant food is prepared well and delicious but the choice is not large and there is a small wine list. Our room was a suite. It was spacious and like the rest of the hotel had a 1920s feel to it although a bit ‘tired’ in appearance. The bathroom was big - double sink, lots of marble, with separate shower and wc. The suite is advertised as panoramic. This meant that it had 3 windows on different aspects but the view through one window was obscured (the glass was permanently fogged). The bed was queen sized but just...divine. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

One of my very favorite hotels on our vacation. This is truly a luxury boutique hotel, impeccably clean, 5 star service, and located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood away from traffic and crowds. Its a nice walk to the city center and we didn't mind it at all. We took a few taxis in the rain but the quality you get for your money is really worth it. The bed sheets were soft and crisp high thread count cotton and beautiful to sleep on. The service was worthy of the 5 stars and everyone was top notch.

We travel extensively....The staff is truly excellent. Classy yet friendly and knowledgeable. Common areas very well appointed. Rooms are slightly dated for a five star. The Art Deco theme is nice but needs to be a little crisper in execution. A 10-15 euro taxi from major sites so you are away from the hustle bustle. Near a beautiful park. Very good restaurants nearby. I would recommend this hotel as a 4.5... excellent staff, away from the madness of the sites.

This hotel is a restored mansion, walking distance from the Galleria Nazionale d'arte Moderna & Park. The staff was nice but since it was completely booked, we were unable to receive our VIP upgrade. This hotel is out of the way, so getting a taxi is a must. The hotel and it's rooms are all decked out in art deco decor. They even have a vintage elevator. The rooms are in need of an upgrade (Warning: Bathrooms are very tiny, as it is to be expected in most of Europe) This Hotel does not have a pool and I would not recommend for people with limited mobility (You have to climb a lot of stairs) A major plus is that this hotel is one of the few that offers complimentary breakfast. They have an abundant selection buffet style items, as well as made to order eggs & cappuccino.

Lord Byron staff are cheerful and attentive; the breakfast is excellent and hotel design is attractive. It’s slightly out of the centre which is a relief during the busy tourist season. If you look closely you might see that certain elements could use refreshing (sealant around bathtub flaking, marble a bit stained in places) but the hotel service more than makes up for that. The breakfast is varied and delicious. I found the bed a little too firm but that’s a matter of taste - the linens are very fine, and we enjoyed having the bed turned down and notices about the weather left on our pillows. Overall an excellent stay - but the staff made it so.

The staff and the hotel were nice however very far from activity in Rome. Needed to take a taxi EVERYWHERE. Needed a bit of an update. The size and comfort of the room was nice however the red older carpet, leaking faucet all night and bathroom water stains and peeling paint at the door should not have been for the cost of the room. Our first few nights we stayed closer to the main activities and could walk everywhere and had lots of restaurants and shopping. If you are looking for a quiet slow pace stay than I would recommend the Hotel Byron.

We spent long days in Rome exploring and coming back to the Lord Byron was lovely. All the staff we met were nothing but warm, welcoming and helpful. We had our 6 year old son with us who was made to feel most welcome. The buffet breakfast was of excellent quality and you were not rushed each morning. Serving until 10.30 was also great as meant you didn’t have to walks up early for breakfast. On our last day we had an evening flight but were able to safely leave all our luggage. We can not recommend this hotel enough. Excellent and we will definitely return again on our next trip to Rome. Thank you Hotel Lord Byron.

Our stay was extended due to extenuating circumstances but the staff were so helpful and incredibly accommodating that they made our stay feel like a “home from home” experience. We were upgraded to one of their suites with a balcony and a super king sized bed which was amazingly comfortable as was the bed in the Classic Double Room too. As much of our stay was spent at the hotel I would have appreciated a more extensive menu choice especially over lunch times but the breakfasts were delicious. This property would appeal to travellers who are looking for a friendly, homely stay slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city due to it’s quiet location situated on the north side of the Borghese Gardens. 9/10
