The hotel sadly does not live up to the images. It is tired , not in the luxury category the the price reflects, the service was very lacklustre . In our room the hairdryer was broken but no replacement available or provided through our stay, the hot water was limited, the bath would not retain water, the bedside rugs were full of holes ( shabby not chic) the bath wold not hold water , I could go on.. In addition the wellness area appeared not to be open and the over courtyard retractable ( maybe) roof was broken and flapping in the breeze which was unfortunate as it was very wet and very cold . Sorry, we have stayed many times in Marrakech , but this was by far the worst accommodation experience

The staff were lovely & the hamam was amazing!
Cons: It felt a little shabby in some areas, like it needed a bit of maintainence, there were loose tiles on the stairs and black mould in the shower and a few other things I noticed that needed attention. Otherwise, a very beautiful place though.

The staff were excellent. (Though Steven the owner was drunk the first night we were there and was let’s just say a bit over the top playing his tunes!!) lovely meal first night and breakfast good everyday.
Cons: Advertised as luxury and pictures make it look beautiful but is a bit tired. Upstairs balcony with jacuzzi needs some upgrades. Said satellite tv which there wasn’t. Reported but they said had not worked for a while! Mini bar was not stocked and didn’t feel cold. Only one towel in room but was rectified quickly. Sadly never heard any piano player and bar didn’t open until 5pm

The owner himself, Stephen has become a great friend of me and my husband, he is absolutely brilliant and highly intelligent and I encourage anyone to strike a conversation with him. Absolute genius of a man, has always found a way to make every single conversation captivating and fully immersive. Exceptional and generous man that is always there to make sure you are having a good experience. This riad is a sanctuary for people who crave some sense of community and a cozy atmosphere that takes you back in time and fills your senses with pleasure. The staff are amazing and they’re always there to make sure you are as comfortable as you can get, easy to befriend and speak to, have found absolutely no issues with them as they made my surgery recovery easier thanks to their continuous assistance and care. I encourage you to book a few months in advance as the rooms can quickly be filled. This riad is a hidden gem where you feel extremely lucky to have chosen them for your next stay, I promise you, you will always want to come back. As for me, I am definitely coming back, and I am very impatient to see our friend. Thank you Stephen for making these two weeks as wonderful as you are.

We had such a wonderfull stay in this nice riad! Because we arrived very early (9:30) and our room would not be ready until 15:00, the staff decided to give us a free upgrade for two nights to one of the wonderfull suites with a fireplace. After these two nights we got another free upgrade! This time to the honeymoon suite, which was magnificant. This one had a own private rooftop terrace (with jacuzzi), a cozy fireplace, a enormous bath and a nice seating area. Not only did these rooms make our stay in this riad so special, but also the friendly and courteous staff as well as the extensive breakfasts and the nice diner we had. Overall a well deserved 10!

Cons: Please stay away from this Riad. It’s run by a fraudulent owner. Trees and may other things around the common pool area are full of dust and not even cleaned. It’s very evident during day time. Owner kind of intimidated us to change our booking to a lower class room and asked that he can’t give the original room that we had reserved. He said he wouldn’t give that room for one night. But how the booking.com site allowed me to book it for a night. When I mentioned to record the change in the booking.com, he had promised to refund the difference in room rate, but so far I’ve not received it in my credit card. Please avoid this fraudulent property if you can.

Cons: Beware of the fraudulent owner and stay away from this property. Very unusual experience where owner does not give the type of room reserved and intimidates to stay in a lower level room. When asked to officially do it through the booking.com site, he promises to refund the difference in room rate. But so far I’ve not received it in my credit card. I strongly believe owner does some fraudulent practices.

I had two stays associated with this riad, and unfortunately my experience escalated from enjoyable to deeply concerning. On my first visit, the owner, Steve, was not present and the stay itself was pleasant. However, I later discovered I had been charged twice for the same stay — once through Booking.com and again directly by the riad at checkout. I raised this immediately however the riad failed to respond, so I had to open a dispute with American Express. At the time, I gave the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was an honest mistake. Based on that assumption, I rebooked. Unfortunately, the same issue happened again — another double charge. This time, the situation became much worse. The owner contacted me directly on my personal WhatsApp (not through Booking.com), accused me of being a scammer, insulted me, refused to let me clarify the charges, and initially refused to refund the duplicate payment despite clear documentation. After I provided proof, I was then told I would need to sign an NDA in order to receive my refund — something I have never experienced before and raised alarm. In addition to the financial issues, I feel compelled to mention the owner’s inappropriate behavior. On one evening, while I was at the pool with my mother, the owner approached us visibly intoxicated, playing loud music, commenting on our sandals and feet. He later openly admitted to having a foot fetish, showing us why he has a displayed image of Angelina Jolie focused on feet in the library area. This interaction made us extremely uncomfortable — especially given that the owner has access to all guest rooms. We ended up having to put a chair blocking the door at night for our safety. Every night there was extremely loud music coming from the bar area which also didn't allow us to sleep. It is unfortunate, because the riad itself and the staff are lovely. However, due to the repeated double charging, hostile, and inappropriate behavior from the owner, I'd warn against staying here. Guests should be extremely cautious with payments and aware of the owner.

This is a hard place to review. It reminds my of a decadent old Uncle’s house. There are signs of grandeur all over. Beautiful carvings, ebony, photography books and the place looks stunning at night with the lighting. The courtyards with the pools are luminous and inviting when lit up. The staff is attentive and bed is comfortable. Breakfast is overall good. However, when daylight comes, there are signs of neglect and decline everywhere. Rugs with holes, torn screens and light fixtures, dead plants, and broken stairs ( which are actually hazardous). And the restaurant is extremely expensive for very average food. This could be and probably was an amazing place. It has the “bones” to be something truly special but needs care.

Riad incroyable.

The design is amazing and whilst location is close the medina and ideal for us it might not be central enough for some. Live music was very good, and the bar manager also top notch.

Beautiful throughout, amazing staff and clean, comfortable room.
Cons: For boasting a Michelin star chef, the restaurant dinner was a disorganized menu with many items out, dishes very heavy and sadly mediocre.

Riad Noir d'Ivoire is an absolute joy and we could not have had a better place to finish our Moroccan jaunt. Its disarmingly simple street door opens into an extraordinarily beautiful, spacious, cool and achingly artful interior. With pillars and arches, sculptures and statuettes, carved animals, plashing water, high foliage and beautiful art on the walls, this riad was the most calming place imaginable to relax, in the heart of the medina, mere minutes away from the maelstrom of the market. The staff were fabulously attentive and the service outstanding. The cooking was excellent and dinner there was exquisite. There were pools, jacuzzis, a hammam, games and a library of art. Every nook and niche here is turned to the service of visual and sensory pleasure. Simply a gorgeous place to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at Noir d’Ivoire and I would certainly recommend it. The riad is a true hidden gem in the medina, peaceful and intimate. It happens that during our stay there was no pianist and no loud music from the lounge, so the atmosphere was calm and very pleasant. The rooms are beautiful: elegant, spotless, and full of character. We learned that much of the décor was created by the previous owner, Jill, whom the staff remembers with real affection. Breakfast was excellent, and we enjoyed the restaurant by the pool so much that we returned for dinner twice. We especially recommend the harira, which was fantastic. The staff were consistently kind, discreet, and helpful. Steven, the current owner, was also a gracious host and shared with us some fascinating stories from his life. I am a very selective traveler, and before arriving I had been confused by some of the recent reviews, particularly those describing loud noise at night or claiming the riad did not look like the photos. I initially booked 6 nights non-refundable on Booking.com, trusting the recommendation of another nearby 5-star riad where I had stayed previously (and who unfortunately was fully booked). When I later read a few alarming reviews, I became hesitant and ended up booking 3 of the 6 nights elsewhere. In the end, this turned out to be unnecessary. We could easily have stayed all 6 nights here, and we would have been very happy. Our experience was simply lovely, without any of the problems described in those negative reviews. A few suggestions for improvement: • Complimentary bottled water should be provided daily. At the moment, only one bottle is offered on arrival, which is surprising for a riad of this level, especially considering that water is very inexpensive locally. • The plants and wall around the second swimming pool would benefit from a bit more care. It would also be nice to have someone available for drink or snack service in that area. • Cleaning of the shared spaces could be scheduled when guests are not using them, to avoid interruptions. • Restaurant pricing is fair for the quality, but drinks (especially water and wine by the glass) are on the expensive side. For example, a bottle of water cost more than at Le Mamounia. • The airport transfer at USD 35 is significantly higher than average. Even if the riad works with a private driver, it would be welcome to offer guests the option of a standard taxi service (around USD 15) for the 15-minute ride. Overall, Noir d’Ivoire is a beautiful, charming riad with excellent service and a refined atmosphere. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

The Riad was absolutely beautiful. The decor was traditional and very inviting, it had a very romantic ambience . The staff were very helpful and friendly. It wasn’t in a super touristy area, which was nice in terms of how quiet it was, but it did mean we ended up walking a lot and discovered a part of the medina that felt more local
Cons: One or two things about the facilities could’ve been improved. For example, our bathroom light was incredibly dim and there was a bit of a leak from the ceiling in the toilet. Also a rather squeaky metal bed frame in our room.

Sadly promised so much but did not deliver. Riad very dark and needed more lighting in rooms, staircases and public areas.Reception staff nice but lacking in staff to attend to residents needs. Only ever seemed one member of staff as a waiter. Everything done on whatsapp, no information, menus or welcome pack in rooms which made it diffucult as we do not use whatsapp. Collection from airport orginsed by hotel was over an hour late and we left not knowing what was happening. The Riad was nice but could be much, much better.

The check-in was very welcoming! They kindly sent someone to help us with our luggage to the pick-up point. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with cold water and some French macarons. The hotel manager then gave us a short tour, showing us the shared areas of the riad. We stayed in the Elephant Suite and enjoyed a lovely view of the pool from our balcony. For our early flight at 3:30 a.m., they were kind enough to have someone assist us with our luggage to the taxi pick-up point, which we really appreciated. Highly recommended!

You walk down an old narrow street, there is no name above the door, you ring the bell (thinking where/what on earth have I booked)... WOW, stepping inside (like a tardis), it took our breath away. Spacious authentic courtyard, with rooms off it. Then, through a doorway into a reading room was a swimming pool with sunbeds (towels provided). The staff were so friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for you. We were in the Elephant room and had a balcony overlooking the courtyard. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Bath robes and slippers provided. Everything was decorated in a beautiful traditional way but with all mod cons. We also had dinner there, which was exceptional, with a great wine selection. Would definitely recommend a stay here. The Souk and Jemaa el-Fnaa square were in walking distance.

It was a lovely Riad. We stayed in the Guepard Suite, that had a private access to the rooftop with hot tub. Staff was kind enough to let us have our breakfast early as we were going on a tour. AC wasn't working properly at the start, but the owner Steve had it fixed immediately. Will definitely go back next time!

Booked for two nights, but we had such an amazing stay that we stayed an extra night. Riad was exceptional. Great quality bed linen and breakfast was superb. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Cons: Leaving the Riad. All was great.

Cons: The rooftop amenities needs to upgrade greatly. I was not comfortable enjoying the space due to dirty and outdated lounge chairs, the unkept dying foliage and the pool that was filled with shrubbery and bugs.

This is an amazing riad. You step inside from the cobbled streets, and you are greeted by regal and majestic opulence. The riad is grand, fine artwork, books, and a large swimming pool with jacuzzi. The Staff were fantastic, and the owner was warm and friendly. Very quiet riad. No loud music, as some of the reviews said. Well worth visiting. We stayed in the honeymoon suite. Absolutely fantastic!!

Stunning property, really well decorated and furnished in keeping with the history of the property.
Cons: Wanted to charge for a bottle of water for the room. No orange juice in 2 of our 3 breakfasts, no explanation, just told no orange juice. No sugar for our coffee. Again, just told that they have no sugar (despite there being a restaurant only site). Bar is very over priced, 80 drm for a small local bottle of beer, 130 drm for a gin and tonic. No coffee or tea facilities in the bedroom.

From the moment we arrived at the Riad, it felt like stepping into a dream. Walking through the winding roads of the Medina, we were greeted with warmth and kindness by one of the lovely staff members who welcomed us with refreshing mint tea and delicious macarons We were seated in the courtyard of the Riad, and honestly, it was breathtaking from floor to ceiling, the design, detail, and atmosphere were outstanding. The care and attention we received didn’t just start when we arrived it began before our trip even started. Stephan called us in advance to check in, offered airport pickup, and was incredibly helpful throughout. The entire team went above and beyond to make our stay special. They helped us book experiences, find great local restaurants, organise cabs, and even taught us how to navigate Marrakech with confidence. There was always someone available and willing to help. hospitality was on another level. We stayed at the Riad to celebrate my partner’s birthday, and they made it truly unforgettable. Stephen and the team arranged for rose petals, cake & a candle lit dinner by the pool. While francky played the piano and song beautiful music. To top it off upgraded us to the honeymoon suite for the night. I genuinely can’t thank the team at the Riad enough. We’ll absolutely be coming back

The riad is very well located with-in the medinas walls and is only a 15 minute stroll to the main square. It has a lovely traditional feel to the place and our room, we stayed in the Panther suite, was very nice and over looked the small swimming pool. The breakfast was ideal and the when we ate there in the evening the food was very good and the pianist was superb. The bar area is very cosy and has a great feel to it, very speak easy vibe. The bed in the room was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made you feel right at home. The small pool in the large courtyard is great for cooling off in after a hot day walking around the city. The only downside in the room was that the air conditioning was not up to the task of keeping the room cool and so it can be a bit warm trying to sleep at night and it would have been good to have your own tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Also they gave you one bottle of water in the room but this was not refreshed during our stay, which would have been nice. We also found that around the small pool area the house keeping was a bit lax, with used towels and glasses being left overnight and not cleared away very often.

We loved going down for our healthy breakfast every morning by the pool - a relaxed and refreshing way to start the day. Our riad was well located for us, a good walk to the sights inside the Medina but also proximate to places outside the Medina. It was also away from the bustle and very private so we could relax during the midday by the pool. The staff (Awaz notably) were friendly and helpful and the owner very kindly upgraded us to the lovely Elephant room for our last few days. We also enjoyed our evening meal there and the musical entertainment. A wonderful trip to Marrakech.
Cons: We enjoyed the evening musical entertainment but have noted in some comments that guests were kept awake. Not an issue for us however.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this beautiful Riad during the final night of our trip, and it was the perfect ending to our journey. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and taken care of. They were kind enough to upgrade us to a larger room, which was not only spacious but also stunningly decorated and incredibly comfortable. What truly stood out, though, was the exceptional hospitality. Every member of the team was warm, helpful, and genuinely polite – easily the best service we’ve received anywhere. Their attention to detail and willingness to go above and beyond made us feel completely at home. On top of everything, they graciously offered us a late checkout, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our last moments without feeling rushed. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made a big difference. We couldn’t recommend this Riad more – beautiful space, incredible service, and unforgettable kindness. We will absolutely be returning!

From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the design and atmosphere of the place. Every detail—from the furniture and colors to the materials and even the scent—felt thoughtfully curated with great taste and care. The riad is truly chic and gorgeous. We stayed in two rooms during our visit: Chameau for the first two nights and Panthère for the last. Both rooms are spacious and stylish—perfect for a romantic getaway. While the lighting is on the dim side, it complements the intimate ambiance of the riad. The restaurant food was absolutely delicious, and the bar served beautifully crafted, well-balanced cocktails. I also enjoyed the spa experience: a 20-minute traditional hammam followed by a relaxing massage—an ideal way to relax after a day exploring Marrakesh. The staff were exceptionally helpful and polite. I had an early morning webinar at 6 a.m., which I took in the lobby, and they kindly brought me a coffee—such a thoughtful gesture. Regarding the music: Before our stay, I had seen several comments about loud music, which concerned me as I usually prefer silence in the room. On the day we arrived, there was indeed a party, and the music was quite loud and audible in our room (Chameau). That said, it was turned off by 11:00 p.m. and didn’t disturb our sleep. On our second night, we had dinner in the restaurant and truly enjoyed the music—Franky is incredibly talented, and the atmosphere he created was fantastic. Advice for those who prefer silence in the room: I recommend choosing one of the suites—Zèbre, Panthère, or Guépard—located in a different courtyard, where you won’t hear the restaurant. Also, as I understood, weekdays tend to be quieter than weekends.
Cons: Generally, we had great experience

My wife and I had a wonderful three-night stay at the Riad Noir d’Ivoire. From the moment we booked, the hotel was incredibly helpful and attentive with useful tips on making the most of our stay in Marrakesh. The riad is an oasis of calm in the middle of the bustling Medina, with a luxury yet relaxed feel. The hotel has a great location and Jemaa el-Fnaa Square and the souks are easily accessible. Refreshing mint tea and macarons on arrival was a nice touch after our flight and efficient hotel-organised airport transfer. An upgrade to the Panthere Grand Master Suite was an unexpected bonus. Our room was huge with a relaxing sofa area, office and large bathroom with shower over a large traditional bath. There was also a private terrace with jacuzzi. It's a great place for couples looking for a romantic retreat. We had a lovely meal next to the pool in the winter garden. Pianist and singer Francky Kanza gave the place a great vibe in the evenings. The hotel's Charlie’s bar is a great place for pre and post-dinner drinks, with a wide range of cocktails and drinks. Hotel owner Stephen Pitts was a fantastic host and has a real passion for the place. He was always around the hotel, checking guests were enjoying their stay, and we had many great conversations over drinks during our stay. What makes the hotel, though, is the friendly and attentive staff, always serving with a smile and happy to help. If you're looking for somewhere special in Marrakesh that offers a memorable experience and excellent value for money, I can't recommend the Riad Noir d'Ivoire highly enough.

Riad Noir d’Ivore is more than a hidden gem, it is an oasis where laid back atmosphere meets exquisite design and great staff, especially the hammam facilities and the cocktail bar that offers a wide range of cocktails mastered by Z, a very talented mixologist. During weekends the piano sounds amazing under the hands of Franckie. It all feels like a luxurious home away from home.

The Riad Noir d’Ivoire is absolutely stunning! The pool, spa, bar, food, rooms, wine cellar, and common areas are all meticulously decorated and cozy. But what sets this place above others is the staff! This team of people work together to make sure your stay is exceptional! Any question or request you may have is handled efficiently and with a smile. I don’t know what their hiring process is for staff but they clearly have the best of the best!! I have stayed at many luxury hotels around the world and have never had this level of service! This is the second time I have stayed at this Riad and I will absolutely stay here again. This Riad has a few highlights — the live piano music by Franci is a lovely touch, and the food at the dinner restaurant was genuinely good. However, overall, the experience didn’t live up to the high-end promise or the price point.
Cons: The location is bit far north in the Medina, which makes getting to most places a bit of a challenge. The atmosphere can also be a bit overwhelming — music plays loudly until 11 PM, and with people smoking throughout the property, the air often feels stuffy. The room had some odd design choices. What was advertised as a king bed was actually two mattresses pushed together, which made sleeping uncomfortable. The air conditioning wasn’t working during our stay, and unfortunately, this wasn’t resolved. The bathroom layout was also impractical, with the toilet and sink on opposite ends of the room, and only a bathtub available, which didn’t function well as a shower. With a few adjustments, this place could be much more comfortable. But as it stands, it didn’t feel like the luxury experience it claims to be. There are likely better options at this price point in Marrakech.

Cons: I rarely write reviews, as I travel often and overlook minor hotel issues. However, I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others about this property, its staff, and why it should be avoided. We stayed for two nights in two rooms to celebrate my 30th birthday, spending over €1,500, including use of the hotel’s facilities. The hotel desperately needs renovation and better management. The bookshelf was broken, the bathroom had ants and was not clean, the TV was outdated, and the rooftop terrace was inaccessible and in disrepair. Accessing the pool required walking through the restaurant area after Hammam, which felt awkward while diners were present. Also the whole experience is not worth it, you would better have hammam treatments in other hotels and spa places. The worst part of our stay was my birthday dinner. Despite confirming a reservation for a table near the fireplace (the only warm area), the manager, Madaleina, rudely redirected us to a different room with uncomfortable seating. When we questioned this, she blamed the receptionist and said he would be warned - that’s the only words I got for this misunderstanding. Shockingly, she sat with her friends near the table I had reserved, making strange faces and smiling at us throughout dinner. Things escalated after dinner when Madaleina returned acting strangely and teasing us. When we asked her to leave us alone, she began arguing and even threatened us. It became increasingly bizarre—she tried to seize our phones and broke one by throwing it on the table. She then threatened to call the police, making comments like “You will never come to Morocco again” “Your birthday is awful” and “You are nothing.” She completely ruined my birthday celebration. And this is the place that should make your stay unforgettable and top-notch! To make matters worse, we were overcharged for services.

This is a wonderful, incredibly cozy, and beautiful riad where I experienced immense aesthetic pleasure. The interior is thoughtfully and skillfully designed, and I found myself admiring its details at every corner. The staff is exceptional and highly responsive, always ready to assist with any needs. The owner, Steven, is very welcoming, and it’s clear that everything has been done with great care and passion. We particularly enjoyed the best sound system in each room, and the piano evenings held here create an incredible atmosphere. The food is simply amazing. During our stay, the riad became number one in Marrakech for its gastronomic offerings. We travel a lot, and this is the second place in the world where I’ve had truly delicious cocktails. The selection is diverse, and the cocktails are truly worthy of attention. If you love aesthetics, attention to detail, friendly service, and want to stay in a great location in Morocco, I highly recommend this place. We have grown very fond of this riad; it feels cozy, comfortable, bohemian, safe, and like home.

Musician playing piano, although it did go on quite late and bedroom overlooked courtyard. Service was very good. Friendly and helpful.
Cons: The water pressure meant that we were unable to shower, we ended up having to be creative in order to simply wash. Not what we would expect from a 5 star riad. It also meant that the toilet would not flush! There was a wooden/bamboo type of rug/mat in our room which had seen better days and had several areas poking out and cutting into us. It said there was a wall safe, but there was not. It also had a speaker which did not function . There was also some sort of leak from above toilet area (maybe from air conditioner) which meant water on the floor in the toilet. Lastly, having stayed in a riad before, I was so looking forward to the breakfast but unfortunately it was just okay. I’m sure the bread (which was stale) was as from the previous nights dinner. On the plus side, the omelette and eggs were perfectly cooked. Just overall a bit of a let down. Especially considering the cost per night!

I spent almost two decades travelling 2/3 times per month, to all corners of the world for business. I stayed at the main brand hotels and although very nice, you could wake up and there was nothing to distinguish where in the world you were from trip to trip. The hotels were clinical and slightly soulless. Now when I travel for leisure I look for uniqueness and character, something that sets it apart. The Riad Noir d’Ivoire met this criteria in abundance! Meandering through the narrow medina streets you suddenly arrive at an intriguing, unnamed door. Once inside you are transported from the hustle, bustle and general chaotic Marrakesh streets to a sanctuary of calm and tranquility. The internal architecture is stunning and the decor is uniquely Moroccan. Staying there feels like staying on the set of a James Bond film. The staff are friendly and helpful and the service is relaxed. In a conversation, one of the staff said their aim is to create a home from home feel. I believe they achieve this. We stayed in the Chameau Suite and loved it. A room bursting with character and Moroccan touches. We enjoyed our first trip to Marrakesh and especially enjoyed returning to the Riad Noir after a busy day exploring. Staying there was a wonderful experience and one that will live long in our memory, which is exactly what I hope to achieve when I travel.

The best thing about this hotel is the staff. From the guys who greeted us when we arrived and the waiters and bar staff, to the ladies who did the housekeeping, everyone was very kind and helpful and really seemed to care about us having a great time. Breakfast was lovely and beautifully presented and we had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant with fabulous food and some very nice Moroccan wine. One of the highlights was Frankie, the pianist, who played in the bar area on one of the nights - such an amazing voice! And the bartender really knows how to make a good gin and tonic!
Cons: We stayed in Chameleon, which is a beautiful room, but sadly we had all kinds of problems. The ceiling was leaking in the toilet, so we kept getting dripped on. Then we discovered the shower did not work and the plug to the bath didn't work either, meaning that we could neither shower properly, nor take a bath. We reported this to reception and he said he would arrange for the plumber to come, but that never happened. Also, the large floor mat is badly ripped and quite sharp to tread on, and we had to cover it with a towel so as not to hurt our feet. One thing to bear in mind about this hotel is that it is a good 15 minute walk from the main square and souks, and the roads are narrow and windy. Then once you get to the hotel, the stairways to the rooms and the roof are quite dark and the stairs are pretty steep, and there's no lift. It wasn't much of a problem for us, but it could be for someone elderly or with mobility issues.

Beautiful property with outstanding staff. Their service exceeded expectations - particularly the barman and the waiting staff. We stayed in a lovely room which was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and everything we required was serviced. There are two courtyards which deliver the peace and calm you would expect during the day. There is a roof terrace. Some evenings there is a singer/piano player Frankie whose music was outstanding.
Cons: On the occasions when there is no live music, the speaker music is often too loud and is played until too late to be conducive to the ambience of the Riad.

Trip advisor proved so wrong. I've been to Marrakech many times and this was my first visit back since Covid. Having done detailed research I chose Riad Noire . Wow I got is so wrong. In future I think I need to focus on the less than glamorous reviews as they do tell a story. In its heyday this riad must have been outstanding - a great deal of money has been spent on luxury fittings. However it is now jaded, unattended and falling into disrepair. Planters left to either weeds or bare earth, showers not working (2days) and requiring a degree in engineering to get a decent constant temperature. Walls cracked and lighting in some areas not working which meant walking it dark stair wells very treacherous. Towels and bathrobes grey and threadbare. Breakfast was the same every day- if you do not like eggs you are in trouble and one day they had forgotten to order orange juice. My biggest criticism however was the lack of privacy. All rooms overlook well used court yards and the noise was intolerable - you could clearly hear conversations from people in the pool and there was a singer amplified, playing music until late at night - he actually was rather good. But not for 5 hours. I wish could upload a sound bite. Yes there are plus things, the bar and cocktails and the staff were excellent. However this Riad does NOT deserve the rating it gets – it's overpriced and there are far batter options. We were glad to leave, it soured our whole trip to what is a magical destination.

Exceptional riad in a good location in the Medina area of Marrakech. Special mentions to Simo, the talented mixologist in Charlies Bar, the concierges, and the attentive breakfast staff. The breakfasts are very good quality with eggs cooked on request and a selection of breads, pancakes, jams, yogurts etc. We really enjoyed dining in the restaurant on our first night with exceptional French and Moroccan dishes on offer. This was accompanied by the in-house pianist and singer with entertaining renditions of classics ranging from Lionel Ritchie to Pavarotti! Stephen Pitts is a super host and is ready made company for guests wishing to enjoy one the signature cocktails or excellent local beers on offer in Charlie's bar. This is a well invested, high quality establishment that rightly deserves its 5 star trip advisor rating.

Would recommend taking the Riad transfer from the airport as well.

This property is hidden down a side alley behind an unmarked door but once inside, you are surrounded by beauty and luxury. The decor is elegant and great attention has been paid to all the details. Our room was well fitted out, complete with open fire, but it did overlook the winter courtyard which has the restaurant and bar so was noisy until service was finished around midnight. If you want some peace, try for a room around the summer courtyard which might possibly be quieter in the evenings. The staff were fantastic and incredibly efficient and helpful. The in-house hamman was a real treat and well worth booking. The hotel organised a guide for a tour of the souks and were very helpful in suggesting (and booking) dining options although we also had two meals in the hotel restaurant which was excellent. For a first visit to Marrakesh it was a lovely introduction to the city and we quickly became used to finding our way through the maze of pends and alleys to and from the property although it is very disconcerting on first arriving. Our only comment would be the matter of the evening noise - there was a wonderful pianist on Thursday night who played until late, and the background music throughout the afternoon and evening every day was louder than we would normally have preferred. The overall experience however was wonderful and congratulations to the team for all their hard work.

The riad is really beautiful and feels like a super glamorous home from home. The staff are excellent, very friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Our rooms were stunning and exceeded our expectations. The included breakfast was delicious with freshly squeezed orange juice and delicious pastries and various options for eggs. We ate at the riad's restaurant every night and the food was amazing. We had the best hammam, massage and facial that we've ever had, so special and really fantastic value for 2 1/2 hours of pure bliss! We came away feeling exceptionally relaxed and rejuvenated. Thanks to everyone at Riad Noir d'Ivoire for such a special trip!

What an amazing Riad hidden away in the backstreets of a medina in Marrakech. The staff were exceptional, went above and beyond for my husband and myself. Would absolutely recommend eating in for at least one or more nights during your stay, especially if the pianist is playing, what a great atmosphere. The standard and quality of the food was of such a high standard and we live in Kinsale which is renowned for some of the best restaurants in Ireland so our standard would be quite high.

All the staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. They really did their best. The mattresses on the bed were excellent - more comfortable than our own at home. There was plenty of space in the room. We had some very nice Moroccan starters and Moroccan wine (a red, called "Eclipse") in the main restaurant. Transfers to and from airport worked out well.
Cons: Too much light and sound in the bedroom. Needs proper blackout curtains and windows that keep out sound fromt he courtyard below. Needs a door to close off the bathroom from the bedroom, as the open entrance lets through into the bedroom the light and noise from a/c units located above the bathroom. TV was not working (storm damage we were told) and even used as a monitor for my laptop it shut down every few minutes. No tea or coffee making facilities so very dependent on calling down for room service. The rooftop terrace was large and could have been very pleasant but there is no proper sound proofing between the terrace and the kitchen's ventilation fan and the a/c unit compressors at one end, so it is not at all relaxing to be on the terrace. The Zebra suite is directly above the kitchen and suffers from cooking smells. We had asked in advance for the bed to be made up as two singles, which had not been done. One evening we tried the French part of the menu in the main restaurant, with mixed results. The chicken dish was completely dry (overcooked?) The chef did manage this as best he could and gave us complimentary desserts (thank you!) Be aware that the property cannot be approached by cars or taxis so logistics are complex if you are not very mobile. There is a golf cart available to be driven by hotel staff but this takes away a bot from the spontaneity of being in the hostoric centre.

Great staff, so attentive, luxurious feel which was much needed after three nights in desert and Atlas mountains. Love that you can WhatsApp the team. We had the private roof top jacuzzi room (Zebra) and it was perfect for privacy! Lunch was lovely , caesar salad and club sandwich, delicious. Cocktails beautifully made too!
Cons: Value for money and cleanliness improvements were the only thing - there was sometimes smell of damp

We went to stay at this hotel 20th to 26th of January. The hotel is incredible and more so, the staff. Attention to detail is an understatement. Everyone was so friendly, focused and attentive at all times and we can’t thank the hotel enough for going above and beyond to see we had the most incredible stay. They assisted in booking most of our day trips and catered for our vegan diet also, which wasn’t on the menu. The rooms are outstanding, by far one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Some people say the negative is the location.. I’ve read those and it’s true, it’s tricky to find but to be fair, Marrakesh is a labyrinth and nowhere is easy to find on the first two days. Abdul, Semore, Badr and Aziz to name a few were so sweet and so attentive and we left with the best memories!! We LOVED this hotel and look forward to visiting again one day.

Speechless - The staff were amazing. It was a special trip for both me and my partner and the hotel knew this, they really made us feel special and catered for every need of ours, in addition to organising our activities. It felt seemless and I will never forget my experience. We loved the ambience and mood of the hotel, particularly at night, where we preferred staying at the hotel instead of going out. The mood and atmosphere was almost zen like, and we felt happy, relaxed and to me felt like more than even a 5 star hotel
Cons: We loved it all - super happy

The Riad is beautifully, obviously professionally- interior designed and is exactly as pictured online. It is very "vibey" in that there's music playing at all times and a lively bar scene. The room was comfortable, the bed had western-hotel standards, and the bathroom shower was really nice. I didn't take advantage of the hammam, but it looked inviting, and I did enjoy sitting by the indoor heated pool even if I didn't get in it - the environment was relaxing. The rooftop had great high-end furniture (the best furniture of the 3 riads I stayed in during my trip.) The staff met my driver with a golf cart so I didn't have to drag my luggage through the alleys to find them. The owner is an American who lived in Britain for years, so I think his more westernized understanding of hotel-expectations are realized.
Cons: The only think I didn't like was the location. It was fairly difficult to find, with more twists and turns than the other two riads on my trip. I was only at Noir d'Ivorie for 1.5 days so I probably just didn't get the hang of it before it was time to leave.

We had a lovely break at Riad Noir D’Ivoire. It is the perfect sanctuary for a couple wishing to have a romantic break away. It is tucked out of the way, however conveniently walking distance from all Medina activity, restaurants and shops. It was an assault on the senses to step out into the passages full of daily hustle and bustle initially however we quickly adjusted and found our favourite routes to places. Stephen, the owner has spared nothing in his fabulous attention to detail with the appointing of design, decoration and furnishing and the staff are incredibly welcoming, friendly and accommodating to all your needs. Nothing is too much trouble. Charlie’s bar is well stocked and run by lovely welcoming people. We had some great chats with them. The only useful addition to our room could have been the ability to make our own tea and coffee. It was brought on demand without any fuss at all and I’m sure with more communication I could’ve had copious cups brought to me, I’m just not used to waiter service so this is not a criticism, purely my preference would be to add a little nespresso machine and a small kettle with some tea sachets. There was a well equipped mini bar, The dining area surrounding the winter garden is spectacular and the accompanying pianist and singer a lovely touch. He has an incredible range of music styles and fabulous voice. The food is fantastic Michelin star quality and style. We ate at Riad Noir D’Ivoire on 2 of the five nights we stayed and both meals were excellent. We would’ve eaten there more had we not have wanted to experience other tastes in different environments. In fact we wished we had on another evening as our meal at cafe des Arabes was rather disappointing in comparison. We did however eat twice at a fabulous curry restaurant Les Jardins de Bala which we would thoroughly recommend if you want an alternative to the Riad's fine dining. We had a wonderful Hammam and massage which we’d never experienced before and will definiteky repeat again. All in all a fantastic stay and we will be returning at some point. thank you Stephen amd your wonderful staff, we returned home feeling relaxed and thoroughly pampered.

Staff were lovely. Took great care of me with arriving with a broken ankle. New Years Eve Celebration was very nice.
Cons: We were advised on arrival not to let anyone in Marrakech take advantage of us. Particularly given I was immobile having broken my ankle the day before. I requested that I could take a pillow and pillow case from the hotel to travel home and keep my foot elevated as advised by insurers. A charge of E140 for a pillow and case seems like... someone took advantage.

A wonderful Riad offering peace and tranquility in the middle of busy Marrakesh. The dining space comes into its own in the evening when the well positioned lights are low, making for a lovely experience whilst enjoying delicious food. Hassan and his team are welcoming, attentive and keen to please. All the staff we met were very polite, courteous and pleasant. The suite was well appointed and clean. If you like bright spaces the Panthere suite is not for you as it was very dark. Also you need to embrace noise and chatter from the neighbours to enjoy your bathroom experience as clear to hear shouting, talking and motorcycles riding through the narrow street. We enjoyed the log fire being lit in the evening which was perfect for the time of the year. It did feel, however, that service at breakfast and the lighting of the fire in the evening, etc, diminished somewhat during our stay, resulting in us having to find staff to ask for simple things like coffee at breakfast. Massage was very nice but the room was cold, staff were speaking in the adjoining room coming in and out, and cigarette smoke could be smelt, so whilst relaxing it could have been better. All in all, top end Riad prices for a great experience, with one or two things which could be changed to make it exemplary.

Oh my goodness I’m not sure where to start From the moment we were met at the airport to the minute we left we were made to feel special. Hassan and his team are amazing, effortlessly seeing to your every need. The owner, Stephen is lovely too. The riad is stunning, you can really tell that it has been lovingly put together and the attention to detail is brilliant. We stayed in the chameleon junior suite and loved it. The bed was super comfortable. The food served in the riad was some of the best we’ve ever had, and likewise the cocktails. The spa is a treat - the relaxation massage was out of this world. Before coming we’d read some of the negative reviews about loud music but there was none. We really enjoyed our stay here. We liked that the property was a true Riad; a quiet alcove in the Medina. We also enjoyed the Hamam which was a neat experience. The staff were all top quality, friendly and warm. The restaurant was excellent. The owner told me that his chef had Michelin experience. His vision is to create a fine dining destination serving Marrakesh. I suspect he'll succeed. Here is our insight on the music. We stayed in the Elephant Suite which is on the second level in the courtyard that houses the restaurant. It is also directly above the bar. For couples who enjoy a lively cabaret style experience, this courtyard of the Riad would be very fun. During our stay, there was a piano player with a tremendous voice singing standards and even operatic songs from Andrew Lloyd Weber. At one point, we sat our our balcony and listened while he played. It was a bit like having your own box seats. Couples wanting to avoid the music should book in the adjoining wing where music is not an issue. We stayed in two really nice suites on the quiet side (which also houses the Hamam): the Zebra Suite and Gephardt Suite. On both evenings, it was very quiet and the rooms were amazing. The Gephart featured a private rooftop with a Jacuzzi. Final note: we initially booked the Elephant Suite not realizing the music issue. The owner worked hard to find a resolution and we ended up having a great time. On the morning of our departure, we had a painfully early flight out of Marrekech. The staff arranged to have someone up by 4:00 a.m. to prepare us breakfast and coffee before we left for a long flight home.

During our stay in Marrakesh, we had the privilege of experiencing the most beautiful riad we’ve ever seen – a true art masterpiece. From the moment we walked in, we were mesmerized by the attention to detail in every corner. The design, the ambiance, and the overall charm of the riad are nothing short of breathtaking. The hospitality was on another level. Aziz and his incredible team made sure every moment of our stay felt special and unforgettable. Their warmth and care turned our stay into a truly magical experience. A special mention goes to the kind-hearted owner, Steve, whose passion and vision are reflected in every detail of this stunning space. And then there’s Franky – the artist and singer of the riad. Words cannot do justice to his talent and the enchanting atmosphere he creates. His performances left us in awe, adding an extraordinary touch to this already exceptional place! This riad is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience that lingers in your heart long after you leave. If you’re ever in Marrakesh, this is the one place you must visit. Simply WOW! Cons: Enkele kleine details : kamer ietwat donker. Dagelijks nieuwe fles water in kamer voorzien.

All staff were extremely polite and friendly. Transfers provided by the Riad were excellent. The room was outstanding, very traditional. The Riad made our Marrakesh experience. It was a lovely tranquil getaway from the hustle bustle of the Madina. Excellent food and wine options. We were well informed on the best activities and places to visit. Above and beyond service!

From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such genuine care and hospitality—it felt like stepping into another world. An oasis of peace and beauty in the heart of the busy medina. Everything was handled perfectly. A friendly driver picked us up, and once we reached the medina, a staff member guided us to the riad. It felt like a culture shock at first, but we felt safe and taken care of. When the door opened, we stepped into pure paradise—quiet, serene, with birdsong and the gentle sound of water. We were greeted with coffee and macarons, and it instantly felt like home. Each room was stunning and uniquely designed. The first night we stayed in the “Gazelle” room, which felt like a scene from 1001 Nights. Over the course of our stay, the owner even upgraded us to two other equally breathtaking rooms. Every detail was thoughtfully curated—from the colors to the luxurious materials. It was spotless, beautifully scented, and incredibly comfortable. The staff redefined hospitality. They were attentive, kind, and treated us like family. From free tea to meaningful conversations, every interaction felt genuine. The owner, Mr. Pitts, is passionate about creating a space for relaxation. One night, he even invited us for drinks and shared his vision for the riad, staying up until 3 a.m. discussing Marrakech and his dreams for this place. The live music was unforgettable—like a private concert. A pianist and singer performed jazz and romantic ballads, even taking requests. This was the best food I’ve had in years. Every course, paired with a great red wine, was flawless. The live music added a special touch. Even though we booked one of the less expensive rooms, the hospitality and care were no different. We also booked a massage at the spa, and it was the most relaxing experience imaginable. This isn’t just a riad; it’s a magical experience that feels like stepping into another dimension. The contrast between the bustling medina and the serene world inside the riad is incredible. Every detail, from the stunning rooms to the heartfelt hospitality, made this stay unforgettable. I’ve already recommended it to friends and can’t wait to return. Thank you, Abdsamad, Mr. Pitts, and the amazing staff for making our trip unforgettable. What you’ve created is pure magic.

Our first impressions of the Riad were good apart from being greeted at 10..50pm by loud singing in the reception/restaurant area. The room was a good size and the staff were understanding and helpful.
Cons: Our room overlooked the restaurant courtyard where most nights live loud music would be played from about 6.30 to very late. You could not get to sleep until the early hours, which meant we were unable to get a good nights sleep for the 5 nights we were there. We tried to explain our concerns but fell on death ears, and no compensation can replace a good nights sleep. The room did not have what was promised, no TV that worked, no telephone, no mini bar no radio. The breakfast was lacking and on our last morning did not get any breakfast as there was no one around prior to us leaving at 7.50am. So if you like loud music and you do not need to sleep this is the Riad for you.

Too Long; Didn’t Read (TL;DR) If you’re looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Marrakech, this riad is it. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with such genuine care and hospitality - it felt like stepping into another world—an oasis of peace and beauty in the middle of the busy medina. The rooms are stunning, each uniquely designed, the food is unforgettable (the best I’ve had in years), and the staff go above and beyond to make you feel at home. From Live music to spa treatments—this place is something truly special. I’d recommend it to anyone without hesitation. Full Review Arrival & First Impressions From the very beginning, everything was handled perfectly. We were picked up by a friendly driver in a luxurious van and driven close to the medina. Since cars can’t drive all the way in, a staff member was waiting for us with a cart for our luggage and walked us to the riad. To be honest, walking through the medina at first was a bit of a culture shock, but the staff member made us feel safe and guided us the whole way. When we arrived at the riad, it felt like stepping into another world. From the outside, you’d never guess what’s behind the door. But as soon as it opened, we were blown away. Inside was an oasis—quiet, peaceful, with the sound of birds and water from the pool. They welcomed us with coffee & macarons, and we just sat there, taking it all in. It felt like paradise. Rooms For the first night, we stayed in the “Gazelle” room, and it felt like something out of a fairy tale—like 1001 Nights. The room was spotless, had a lovely oriental scent, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Over the course of our stay, the owner even offered us free upgrades to two different rooms, each more stunning than the last. You could tell that so much thought went into every detail of the design, from the colors to the materials used. Every room was an experience in itself.

Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble, they arranged a private tour to the Atlas Mountains for us, collection and drop off at the airport and much more. Lovely ambiance, well situated in the medina . The evening entertainment provided by the pianist and singer was very good if a little loud (see below)
Cons: Whilst the standard of cooking was excellent, the menu is quite small, and difficult if you’re vegetarian. We did experience the smell of cigarette smoke in our bedroom a couple of nights all night long. We were told it was the staff smoking area causing this. The entertainment was very loud such that we had trouble hearing one another at dinner ( this could be due to the Riad’s acoustics)

Every aspect of our stay went above and beyond our expectations—from the warmth and kindness of the staff to the beautiful, relaxing facilities. It was the perfect retreat from the lively and bustling souks during the day. We particularly enjoyed the rooftop, the heated pool, the charming bar, and the wonderful dinner. To make it all even more memorable, we were upgraded to one of the suites, which truly made our stay unforgettable - thank you again for this extremely kind gesture! We highly recommend the Riad to anyone visiting Marrakech and looking for that little extra in their Riad !

the riad is stunning, attention to detail is exceptional. staff were fantastic & you could walk to most places with ease. great cocktails & food also...and we had an amazing hammam spa experience on our final day!
Cons: the live music was great but but went on quite late, not idea if you wanted an early night after a day of walking around marrakesh. it wasnt every night though but was great the nights you were happy to stay up & have a drink. also, our room needed a full length mirror which having spoke to the owner said he agreed & would sort

Lovely location. Nice staff. Super breakfast.
Cons: The music in the evening was so loud in our room we couldn't relax. There was no escaping it in the riad. Also the lighting was super gloomy - hard to even read by (not that you could read in the evening if the music was on: honestly so loud the window panes were throbbing at one point!) Water pressure unpredictable and shower curtain too flimsy so the bathroom would be flooded. Very much style over substance.

Nice and quiet Riad.large pool area. The staff was nice and friendly. They was always helpful and smiley.
Cons: Quite far from the Market and hard to get sens of orientation because the Medina is like a Maze! Bed was a bit hard and not so confortable . At checkout did not appreciate to pay extra fees for rooms that was fully paid due supposedly to exchange rate. Food at the Riad is very expensive compared to to even high end local Restaurants.

Cons: A localização do Riad.

This hotel offers a fantastic breakfast menu, everything was fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. The rooms were clean and spacious, and the hotel provides some gowns and sleepers for their guests which is the bonus.
Cons: All hotel rooms should have a full length mirror for their guests. It’s a quite simple and yet I believe a very essential feature for guests comfort. The breakfast could have some variety to it. Although it was tasty but if I stayed there longer than 3 days I would be bored eating the same breakfast everyday.

It was just perfect. Incredible room and venue. The best staff. We stayed three nights and we cannot wait to stay again. The pool area was so relaxing, after the loud chaos of the Medina, it was blissful to walk back in. Book your taxi through the Riad as they will come and pick you up from the taxi drop off spot in the golf cart. Otherwise you may struggle to find the place. Wine cave is the dream!

The staff was absolutely fabulous and very helpful. The breakfast at the property was really nice, and overall the place was very aesthetic and cool. Overall a good experience. Any issues were smoothed over by the staff. They really made up for any shortcomings with their warmth.
Cons: The property, albeit beautiful, was not well maintained, a lot of staff was on vacation so they were understaffed, which impacted the cleanliness of the place. It wasn’t dirty, but not clean enough to feel completely at ease. They were apologetic about it however, however I feel the management should either set clearer expectations, or hire one more staff to help the sole cleaner. The water pressure in the shower was not great, and the tub is unfillable so completely useless, and it’s a great inconvenience to climb over it to get in and out of the shower.

During our month-long trip, this was hands down the best place we stayed. Every aspect of the riad is thoughtfully and beautifully curated, with outstanding attention to detail. Every single item in the riad was chosen with care and design in mind. From the welcoming scent as you walk in, to the perfectly heated pool, it truly is a wonderful place. There's a library full of books where any creative person could lose hours, and an impressive wine cellar complemented by a restaurant with exceptional chefs. The dining area features one of the most impressive pianos I've seen, with a pianist playing in the evenings. The staff were kind and eager to accommodate any request, consistently going above and beyond. The room decor was gorgeous and included a Bang & Olufsen speaker, a lovely touch for music enthusiasts like us. On our last evening, we met the riad owner Steve, who shared the story behind all the details in the riad. It's clear that this isn't just a business venture, but an experience he has meticulously crafted, and he's absolutely succeeded. This riad felt like an oasis amid the beautiful chaos of Marrakech.

Very friendly staff, great communication before our visit, nice pool area, good breakfast, lovely restaurant, gorgeous rooms, great location.
Cons: We found that from our room we could hear everything in the courtyard, even with all windows and curtains closed. This could just be staff talking quietly, or guests having breakfast, but we could hear every word. In the evenings we found the piano and singer quite tiresome as it was the same every night and we couldn’t sleep until he was finished (even when we had a very early flight).

Our stay here was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel truly special. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our stay was perfect. The Riad itself is a stunning blend of traditional Moroccan architecture and modern comforts. Our room was big, beautifully decorated, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The attention to detail in the Riad's decor was impeccable. The best part of our stay was undoubtedly the service. Everyone was so welcoming, caring, and always had a smile on their faces. Not to mention, the food was exquisite. One of the highlights of our stay was Charlie’s Bar, where we spent our evenings chilling and listening to great music. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind after a long day of exploring. We felt pampered and cared for throughout our stay. We can't thank Steve, the owner and the staff enough for their exceptional service and hospitality. Cons: For some reason music was played from the bar very loudly throughout the evening until the early hours of the morning - Rolling Stones and the Beatles with the same songs on repeat. Cons: Calm and peaceful until it’s absolutely unreservedly not. Please be aware that this review is not a comment on any of the wait staff or helpers. This hellacious stay was the sole responsibility of the owner- a man whose own staff referred to as a “drunkard” and a “bad man”. We settle into our room and out of nowhere the Christian hymn “Amazing Grace” starts BLARING. It’s daytime at this point so we essentially ignore it as a quirk. The music eventually turns down. Later, an explicit version of 50cents “PIMP” starts blaring. Again, we assume it’s a strange misunderstanding of American music. We head down to the bar to get a drink before dinner and meet the very clearly already inebriated man that claims he is the owner. He starts talking at us telling us all about how much money he has, how much money he spent on the riad, how he hates “woke people” but he’s “fine with gay men but they’re so much more flamboyant than the lesbians”. He insists we tell him our favorite music but then proceeds to forget the questions he has asked already 3-4 times. As we’re trying to extricate ourselves he pulls me, a young female, into him by my hip/waist and shoulder to try to hug/talk to me inches away from my head. We should have known then, but instead write him off as a drunk weird old man who will surely go to bed soon. Nope. For the next 3.5 hours, he essentially tortures the guests of his riad and restaurant by blaring the music then having it turned down by his staff every 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Up and down all night. Several male guests have complained by this point as I’m assuming all the females feel unsafe. The staff apologized profusely and tells us they can’t unplug the wifi, take the iPad controls away, or anything else because “his is the owner”. One guest says he will call the police but the French manager says this has been done before lots of times but he just pays off the police and gets away with it all because “he owns the riad”.

🇬🇧 Good communication from the hotel before arriving. Booked the hotel transfer which ran smoothly and then arriving at the Riad it was amazing. Beautifully done, lovely staff and a great atmosphere and experience with easy walking distance to explore the city.
Cons: It was all great, one negative point was my bath was so deep that I could only fill it half way before the water went cold, but it is a deep bath and I soon got over it.

Riad eccezionale, superiore a tutti. Gentilezza dello staff, piscina, colazione, posizione. Bravi!

Good communication from the staff since the day of booking till we arrive at the location. All needs are provided by the staff and the place itself is more than we can imagine in a Riad. Fatah also did an excellent job of getting us a private tour for the sunset dinner experience in Agafy Desert. All the staff did an excellent job during our stay
Cons: Location is within the local houses and I find it scary specially going home late at night with random people loitering around the area

Fantastic staff, very helpful and friendly. We visited during Ramadan which must be a challenging time for the staff but the level of service was exceptional all round. Great location within the Medina, within walking distance of the souks and historic sites. Beautiful decor and good facilities in a small but exclusive feeling Riad. Restaurant excellent for evening meals and also a lovely complementary breakfast. They also provided assistance with transfers, tours and activities which was much appreciated. Spa also provided a fantastic Hamman treatment and a first class massage.

The facilities were brilliant, we had the most amazing massages, the room was simply outstanding with very particular attention to detail and every request we had made had been catered for perfectly. Our room had a private decking / hot tub area which was lovely. The food is excellent but the best thing about the hotel is the staff - they go above and beyond to make sure you have the best time and I wouldn't hesitate in returning, Thank you!
Cons: Everything was literally perfect.

Good comms pre arrival. Met from our transfer with golf buggy to take us to the hotel. Welcomed with Morrocan tea/ macaroons which were great. The Riad is definitely bordering on top 5star quality. The architecture within is stunning, lovely décor/art work, tidy, clean with a good pool/Jacuzzi, sunbathing facilities on the roof and areas that you can relax in. Bar was good with pretty much anything you would want, if you have cash to burn and like the finer things in life you would probably love this place (has its own stocked wined cellar). Our room was the fox room which was great and we enjoyed the wood fire that they will light for you each night if you wish. When we had dinner with the hotel it was Lovley (a tad pricy though). Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Place is located perfectly within the Midena, 10 mins walk to markets & 15mins walk to main square. 3min walk to taxi rank. Overall, very pleasant stay, would return if staying in Marrakesh.
Cons: As per the culture in Morroco, they see you as rich and on holiday, so are looking to make cash out of you. This happens everywhere in the city from the markets to the tours you go on. This includes the hotel. The only issues we had was that although lovely and it created a nice atmosphere, every night for dinner between 6-10.30pm mon-Thurs & 6.30-11.30pm the hotel plays live music. A pretty good pianist. However, due to the acoustics of Riad this is very loud, if you want an early night.. well you’re not getting one. If you’re there for a good time and happy to stay up drinking and partying then, again, you will probably love the place. We were unaware of this but this also seems to be the culture here they get up late and stay up late. Also be aware, they probably won’t bring this to your attention: 1. All prices advertised in the Riad are subject to tax (20% on spa treatments and 10% on food/drink) this is not clearly advertised. 2. They will charge you heavily for water (45MAD), you can get water around the corner in the market for about 10 MAD. Anywhere I have stayed in country’s over the world where you can’t drink the water supplies guests with water free of charge, here doesn’t seem to provide. Unfortunately we overheard a pretty heated argument (shouting) between the staff and a customer who obviously was unaware of the above!!

The Staff was the best thing in this riad, they made the whole experience worth it Hayat , Mohammed ,Aziz, fattah, Bader all of you .. thank you for the hospitality , the generosity and the high standard manners I felt like I was with my family 💗💗 The interior was stunning.
Cons: The only unfortunate thing was the noise If you are someone who sleeps early or looking for a quiet place .. that’s not the place for you . Music is laud till 11:30 -12 You can hear everything literally everything .. plates.. spoons .. ppl talking and that’s the case in most of the riads, the experience of a risd is beautiful but not for 6 nights 2 to 3 nights is enough I guess . plus the loud music which was very annoying and disrespectful for us ppl who need to rest and the neighbors especially it’s in the middle of an old neighborhood in the old town .

Owner Stephen and all staff, special shout out to Aziz and Mohammad. Breakfast was yums. Had dinner one night, with candles and wood fire going, it was so romantic and perfect for our anniversary. Sadly we missed Frankie playing the piano that night as he was off with a cold but had beautiful background music. Spent every night in the bar by choice, with good company and music. The building is beautifully restored. The Room was beautiful and we slept well every night. We loved our private terrace and hot tub. We used it everyday day. Just want to say thank you for the memories.

The staff & service were incredible, shout out to Jazouli who was absolutely amazing, above and beyond service. Made every single day better! Also shout out to Franky, the pianist/artist in the riad. He is incredibly talented and always so entertaining. The riad is an incredibly well curated place, very stylish with an amazing bar, stunning pools, and reading area. The rooms are amazing, exceeded our expectations. The breakfast was delicious as well. Riad restaurant is amazing, Michelin star restaurant, our best meal in Marrakesh. Also my partner organised a few surprises for me as it was a birthday trip and Hyatt went above and beyond to made sure everything was perfect prior to our arrival. Overall an amazing experience, 10/10. We will be back.

A beautiful Riad. Very tastefully appointed with quality furniture and interesting objet. The staff are superb and very helpful if you need any assistance with your daily plans.
Cons: The problem we found was the noise from the diners below our room and music from the bar at late hours. We were woken at 1 and 2 in the morning on one night. The next night 14 diners were only just sitting down to dinner at 11pm. We did not get to sleep until close to 1am. Whilst we appreciated the owners efforts to make things up to us by offering us a room upgrade and free dinner on our last night we feel we should point out to anyone who values a good night’s sleep that this Riad may not be the place to get that unless they pay up for a suite around the swimming pool area.

This Riad is located perfectly in a good spot, away from the hustle & bustle of Medina but close to many attractions at the same time in a quiet area. We love good food and Oban restaurant inside Riad Noir D'lvoire had a Michelin star chef and food quality was great. Both French & Moroccan style cuisine was delicious. We also loved the breakfast. The staff was quite helpful and service was excellent. They have a good selection of wines in their cellar. The Riad is 20-25 mins walking distance to Jardin Majorelle, Yves Saint Lauren museum and Jemaa el-Fnaa. It's also quick to leave the medina to get a taxi for other places.
Cons: The weather was a bit polluted in January in Marrakesh, plus the exhaust of the motorbikes in narrow streets made it difficult to breath. But this is not the hotel's fault.

The service was definitely of the highest level! I really recommend to book the transfer to/from the airport since regular taxi will not be able to drive you all the way to the Riad via the narrow allies. Instead the transfer you book directly with the Riad will include a switch from cab to a kind of golf car which is an experience in its self. 😊 The atmosphere and staff are very service minded and polite. I had the opportunity to enjoy the dinner during my first night and I took the options made by their new French Michelin chef. It was amongst the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. Mushroom ravioli, saffron risotto with seafood and then the pavlova. Amazing all over! And the staff is always making you feel very well treated. Really cool room designs. And it’s nice and quiet during nights. I would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back one day. Thank you!

In the heart of Marrakech's Medina, an unmarked door beckons visitors to the peaceful embrace of Riad Noir d'Ivoire. From the outset, guests are surrounded by its tranquil aura and are welcomed with the unparalleled warmth of its staff. Throughout the property, unique treasures are strategically placed, echoing tales of Moroccan culture. The harmonious fusion of traditional and modern aesthetics offers a deep immersion into Marrakech's spirit. Following a recent earthquake, the tenacity and dedication of the staff were striking, ensuring guests experienced an undisturbed retreat. Steve, the enthusiastic owner, adds a touch of vibrancy with music from his impressive sound system, making evenings all the more memorable. The dining experience is elevated with their new Michelin-inspired menu, where the chef masterfully combines diverse textures and flavors, producing dishes that tantalize the palate. Meanwhile, Abdessamad, the mixologist, crafts cocktails that are not just beverages but stories in a glass, reflecting his undeniable expertise. Frankie's melodious renditions further illuminate the nights, turning simple moments into lasting memories. Such was the allure of the Riad that our initial stay naturally extended, a testament to the indelible impressions and bonds created. Extending gratitude to Moussa, Simo, Aziz, Mohammed, Abdel, Hamsa, Badir, the meticulous housekeeping team, the hammam specialists, and massage therapists, each contributing to the Riad's magic. Their consistent kindness and professionalism, even in challenging times, were exemplary. To sum it up, Riad Noir d'Ivoire isn't just an accommodation; it's an enriching experience. With a mosaic of cherished memories crafted, we eagerly anticipate our return.
Cons: It was 100% perfect and I wouldn’t change a thing.

The staff was very kind and friendly, they were extremely accommodating and met all our requests above and beyond. The streets at the Medina are a bit confusing and they walked us to a few of our meeting points for tours and excursions. They set up the fast track at the airport and the transportation for our arrival and departure. Finally, the kitchen is really good, we enjoyed our breakfast every morning with a lot of peace and quiet. The bar is really good and dinner was delicious.
Cons: The facilities, especially the shower in our room need a bit of updating, the shower head was not fully functional and the drain was very slow. The light in the room also could be a little bit brighter as we needed to keep de shutters closed as there was no real privacy.

After getting in touch with Stephen (due to the unfortunate earthquake), he shared a video of the condition of the Medina and the Riad, then I felt re-assured that my travel plans to Marrakesh would remain the same and this was a great desicion. My sister and I arrived to Riad Noir d’Ivoire for 4 nights stay. This is a hidden gem in the middle of Medina, the historical center of Marrakesh. I immediately felt in love with the Riad and the facilities, the rooms were extremely clean and designed with a wonderful Moroccan taste, there are comfortable beds and a nice housekeeping team taking care of the daily service. A wonderful Spa and Hamman! This was my highlight! Miss Heouria did a wonderful Hamman and a very relaxing massage, she is lovely and I had to do twice during my stay Hamman as she was great! Wonderful breakfast , lunch and dinner in the Riad restaurant, Aziz (waiter), he was always ready to assist during our meals and then Abdel and the concierge team at the reception…. big kuddos to them for their patience, as we attended a wedding in Marrakesh and we were returning very late at night to the Riad and they were always available to assist us with transportation to the city or outside the city and/or the buggy to bring us back to the Riad from the parking area! I loved this, quite convenient to be honest!!! You have to use the pool! Is just amazing and beautiful area to rest and disconnect after a long walk in the craziness of the Souks
Cons: Unfortunately, I had to leave the property :-(

When selecting a property for our destination in Marrakesh, I spent numerous hours comparing hotels and riads based on location, amenities, experiences based on reviews, and price. This riad always came on top based on all these factors and we couldn’t have been more pleased with this choice. Our vacation incl the Burj al Arab in Dubai (7 star hotel),and a Seabourn Cruise(6 star cruise)and I have to say the riad came in second amongst the three. The service is impeccable and their mantra is anything you want anytime you want it. You will be hard pressed to find alcohol in Marrakesh so the added bonus of their mixologist in Charlies Bar, and their extensive wine list really hit the nail on the head for us. Stephen the proprietor was a most welcoming host, and we really enjoyed having cocktails and chatting with him. He is by far one of the most interesting persons we have met in a long time. He is getting a Michelin star chef to take over the kitchen in a few weeks. He has a great attention to luxurious details throughout the riad and you will see it in the Christolphe dinner cutlery, candle holders, and accessories throughout the main areas of the riad. The Bang and Olufsen sound system allows guests to use their phones to stream music to their own rooms. The hammam and spa on site was so convenient. We did the package which included the hammam scrub down and a massage. The ladies were great and did a wonderful job. It was nice to do that and then relax by the pool which also has a jacuzzi. You could also have refreshments or food by the pool as well. some of the highlights include the extensive priceless book collection in the library, the super thick towels in the guest rooms, routine changing out the bed linens daily, concierge that will help you get anything you need done, a golf cart to come get you and your luggage, greeting you at the riad when you check in with champagne and treats, and etc. The price to stay here was amazingly reasonable!

We chose Riad Noir d'Ivoire firstly for its location in the Medina and because of the wonderful photography. We couldn't have been happier when we arrived. From the moment we walked through the doors we were treated like Royalty. Abdel on the desk and Aziz gave us a drink to welcome us and a quick tour of the Riad. We were told we'd had a room upgrade, and wow what a room, truly luxurious, wonderfully air conditioned and extremely comfortable. After a quick look around locally we decided to have dinner at the Riad. Fabulous food served next to the pool, great atmosphere and wonderful service. We were lucky enough to meet Stephen the owner over drinks to thank him for the upgrade. He was charming and made us feel very welcome. Overall we couldn't recommend Riad Noir d'Ivoire enough. The staff were fabulous, accomodation luxurious, spa and pool just what you needed on a hot day, amazing food and drinks in Charlie's bar. Three days we'll never forget. Thankyou Abdel, Aziz, Seymour, Hamza, the housekeeping ladies and of course Stephen. See you again. Charlie and Allison
Cons: Honestly have nothing negative to add.

Breakfast was delicious, fresh fruits with yogurt (and honey to add), breads, eggs to order - especially the poached eggs on avocado toast, and the veggie-cheese omelets. A wonderful Hammam bath and maybe the BEST MASSAGE ever! And all the STAFF are very helpful and responsive, even coming to get us when we were lost in the web of streets and alleys in the Medina, a service they encouraged us to use.

An exquisite Riad- it is a very special property with the loveliest staff. We stayed in two rooms; the Zebrre Master Suite was first, which we were surprisingly upgraded to on arrival for our first evening - huge and had it's own private roof terrace and hot tub. The decor throughout the whole large Riad was beautiful. Service was impeccable every single day. The Riad is sparkling clean. Our second room was the Tourteelles, which had a beautiful big comfortable bed and looked over the winter courtyard.
Cons: So minor, but in my room there wasn't a full length mirror and the lighting was low for applying make up. (the Tourterelles room) The Zebre did however.

The staff were exceptionally helpful. Aziz could not have done more to make us feel at home. This is really true of everyone. You felt like it was your home in Marrakech. The pool area is stunning and gives just the right amount of sun if you are a sun worshipper like me! The place is truly stunning, with an exceptional eye for detail throughout.
Cons: I can’t think of anything I didn’t like apart from perhaps we could have stayed longer!
